Excellent product at a very reasonable price
Is exactly what I needed and was looking for. I found several adapters that would fit the stock and adapt a QD (push button style swivel with the small ball bearings holding it in place) swivel...these items were in the $40 to $50 range. This works great and is a cleaner fix IMO. It is also in a better location that the QD swivel adaptors. I did have to use a file to open up the slot in my stock, which was an easier task vs filing the steel part to fit the slot in the stock...Plus no need to cold blue the areas on the stud that were filed to get it to fit...Plastic files easier than steel.

Good quality and good fit.
Bought this for a Mossberg MMR Hunter. It’s a hunting rifle and by taking less than a minute to swap this part out I can now sling it like a hunting rifle with a padded strap.

Fit Ruger AR 556 with slight modification
Fit Ruger AR 556 with a slight modification...... had to remove a small amount of stock material, but works fine after alteration. Not a 'drop in' for the Ruger AR 556.

Another "must-have" item for my DPMS Oracle
I purchased this item, along with the Harris No.5 Bi-Pod Adapter, in order to have "QD" studs that would allow me to run a simple, light, nylon webbing Butler Creek Mountain Sling on my DPMS Oracle. I wanted to run this light carry strap due to size and weight constraints in setting up my Oracle for a hunting philosophy of use. In hunting, the rifle will be in my hands and I want to be able to quickly remove my carry strap when I am not using it, which will be most of the time, for me, or quickly secure it when I do need to carry my Oracle off my shoulder. Tactical slings, including various single-points I've seen, are significantly heavier than the hunting style carry strap I am using. The DPMS Oracle ships with no included provision for sling or carry strap mounting, but it does have an A-2 style fixed sling loop in the butt stock. This was not a direct replacement for the removed component on my rifle; I had to modify it to fit by sanding metal off each side of the shank around the hole that the attachment screw threads in to. Before sanding, I checked to make sure that the screw that threaded in to the fixed sling loop original to my rifle also threaded in to this. I sanded one side and then the other, a little at a time, until this component slipped in to place with a snug fit. When it did, I cold-blued the areas I had sanded down, set it in to my stock, and secured it. I wasn't in a hurry to get an end result but even with having to modify this item to fit in my application, installation took less than 45 minutes from start to finish. With this installed, I now have a rear stud that is fully compatible with civilian Uncle Mike's brand QD sling swivels. The Harris No.5 bi-pod adapter in my stock hand-guard provides the same capability in it's position.

It works with modification, but not ideal for M4 stock
Functionally this swivel stud does the job for which it was purchased. However, I'm only giving three stars for the following reasons:- This item is overpriced for the delivered item. It's smaller than a piece of Trident chewing gum (small!)- It is unfinished, which means it will rust easily. For the price I would have expected it to have a protective finish applied.- It is too thick to fit in an unmodified M4 collapsible stock and is not a direct fit without modification. The stock requires some fairly significant modification and fitting to make it fit. (to be a direct fit for an M4 stock it should be thinner, and the ball head angled or offset).- The post is shorter than the original sling mount (opposite of the threaded hole) and will allow for the stud to shift left/right in the stock.Unfortunately there are no other direct competitors for this item, or at least I can't find one. If one becomes available that meets the above shortcomings I will replace it. It's possible I'm using it for a purpose/application for which it was not intended, but even so I would have expected it to be delivered with a protective finish.Edit: I added pictures to show the fit. The first picture shows how the stud is shorter than the original. The second picture shows how the stock must be modified and shaped to fit the new stud (was originally a flat slot) instead of the head being angled or offset.

AR Sling Stud
I put this stud in place of the GI type sling retainer on an AR15 A2 stock that was made by UTG and purchased through Amazon. The stud fit fine in the stock. This rifle was built as a heavy barrel bench gun. The stud being low profile has less of a chance of catching on the rear range bag when fired.

Perfect fit, easy install.
Received fast, installed faster. The install took literally 10 minutes, most of that time was getting a screwdriver and opening the package. It was exactly was I was looking for.

Excellent, and just about the only option for those ...
Excellent, and just about the only option for those that use traditional type slings on QD sling swivels with an A1/2 stock. The hole for the swivel on mine was very slightly undersized; I had a swivel that fit, but a lot of people will have to open up this hole just a bit.
