Turns a hardtail into full-squish.
Truly fantastic! I tried two, cheaper, models before biting the bullet on this one. I really don’t know if it’s possible to get a better seat post suspension than this Suntour. I definitely wouldn’t pay twice as much for anything else. It just can’t get that much better. Now, it does have a couple small drawbacks: it will add a few inches to your seat height if the bottom of your seat is usually resting within a couple inches of the bike frame’s seat tube. And it will move the seat back a couple inches, so you might have to move your handlebars back if possible. And if you’re over 190 lbs like me you have to get the heavier spring, which is another $30.But unless those things will not allow you to ride in a comfortable position any more, who cares? If you regularly commute on your bike this will save your ass. Those bumps you used to cringe over, they’re gone. It’s truly a totally different riding experience. I’ve never really ridden much on full suspension bikes, but I can’t imagine the end result would be significantly more comfortable that this post on a hard tail bike. And even with the extra $30 for the heavier spring, it’s still $75 cheaper than the next more expensive seat post option.I really couldn’t be happier with this. Unless your seat is positioned very close to your frame, or you are already seated too far back and have no fore-after adjustability in your handlebars,GET IT!

Highly effective at smoothing out the bumps and saving your back
First I put one of these on my e-bike, and it made a big difference in the ride. The bike has front shocks, but I was getting hammered through my butt and my old back didn't like it at all. After some research on seat post shocks, This one seemed like a good compromise between performance and cost. It exceeded my expectations for performance, and within a week, I decided to replace the old seat shocks on both my wife's and my hybrid bikes. In both cases, the improvement was dramatic. I highly recommend these seat shocks.

Great product.
Buy one of these before you change your bike seat for more comfort. This unit provides a little more suspension that is often all you need.

Works as advertised
Check your post size and order appropriately , this thing helps with my ridged gram bike that has no suspension except for the tires. Works well worth the the money for me.

A+ with one recommendation
I have major low back issues. I hit bumps with my hard tail and it took about 90% of the shock. I don’t know in about this products longevity but so far so good.I am a heavy rider and I should have been able to select the spring type at the point of sale instead of having to make an additional purchase to get the “heavy” spring. I’m not convinced I actually need it but I got it and now the original spring is just going in a box or the trash. It’s simple waste of metal/resources.

Excellent suspension seat post that significantly improves rider comfort.
Bought this seat post to replace the rigid stock post on my wife's new Aventon Level.2 e-bike. The Aventon seat and seat post did not absorb any bumps and made long rides on mixed surfaces very uncomfortable. The SR Suntour SP12 NCX suspension seat post in combination with a new memory foam seat has proven to be the perfect solution. It was quick and easy to install. The seat angle and post spring load adjustments took just a couple of rides to find the best set points. I was concerned initially that the seat post's suggested rider weight range (132 ~ 220 lbs.) might be too high to be able to reduce the spring load low enough for my wife's weight (under 130 lbs.) but that proved not to be an issue. After a couple of weeks and 75+ miles riding, my wife is extremely pleased. I like the seat post's design, build quality, and ease of adjustment. The only design improvement that would make it better would be to add a graduated scale on the post to help reposition the seat height correctly when it is removed for load adjustments.

You need this seatpost if your bike lacks suspension
One of the best accessories that I’ve purchased for my gavel bike! No, it might not make you faster, but the added weight won’t slow you down, either.

Makes for a very comfortable ride
I have two ebikes that I ride regularly and each bike has one of these suspension seatposts. My friends that try them love them too.
