Great stamp. Do yourself a favor and also buy the rams foot stamp handle. This thing requires a beating to get a good even impression and the usual stamp handle bells out the fitting resulting in an uneven impression, "ghost prints" and injury when the maul deflects off the handle and whacks your knuckle.

Leather stamp
Very nice, sturdy stamp.

Not good with poly hammer
Nice detail but this stamp would work better with a press. I use a poly hammer with moistened leather on a marble slab. I'll try a bigger hammer but If I hit it too hard I get a double strike.

Doesn't leave a clear imprint
I have tried this stamp on several different pieces of leather and have failed to get a clear imprint on any of them. I tried soaking the leather before stamping and that worked somewhat better, but still far less than ideal.

Pretty darn good
Stamp is a little to much surface area to get a good impression with a mallet. Works perfect in arbor press!
