does anyone know the exact size of the hat?

Reading the reviews and questions leaves me with this question, how can one size hat fit so many different size heads??

It's all in the shape of that style of hat. You'll notice that the front of the hat, for example, is not "verticle", and neither are the sides. They all slope a bit. This allows for a fairly broad range of head sizes.
