Great for Small Construction Company
Own a small construction business with 12 hourly employees, and fairly regular start / finish times each day.Old way we did it was simply each employee telling us their hours each day - needless to say that way was super simple, but extremely prone to errors or abuse. So, I started looking for a system that was extremely simple and quick to set up. This device has fit that need perfectly. From out of box to totally ready to use took me about 4 hours, but that includes setting up all the cards, pay preference, lunch breaks, adding employee info, etc. One thing I thought was silly was they didn't include the full manual with purchase - you can find it on their website and you WILL need it to figure out how to set it all up - for $400 they should send you a hard copy.Basically in the morning everyone uses their card to clock in, clock out at the end of the day, and 30 mins is automatically deducted for lunch after 6 hours -- one reason I went with this system is for the automatic lunch deduction system. The online web application is also very easy to adjust someones hours if you need to (and, you probably will - if someone forgets to clock out, leaves jobsite early, etc). We keep the log in cards in a holder right next to the clock (if people take them home, I guarantee they will forget them, lose them, etc - so this keeps it easy). If you are relatively tech savy, you'll have no problem setting this up for your business - just read the manual well before you start, as it's very detailed and easy to follow. This system seems diverse enough to suit a business anywhere from 1 to 50 employees, with enough options to suit many needs (such as pin code or no pin code required to clock in, different types of clock out rounding, web log in ability, putting employees in departments for quick hour totals, quick checks for estimated costs, overtime alerts, etc etc - really impressed how user friendly the web app is).Overall, it's worked surprisingly flawlessly for my business, and managed to make our employee payroll fair and accurate (and honest!). Very very glad I took the leap and incorporated this in my office - I should have done it long ago.

Great product -- and no monthly fees
Great time clock. The critical item for us was that there were no monthly fees associated with the product. We purchased a 25-pack of additional cards and the installation was great. We called to ask a question and received excellent customer support. Very happy with this purchase. Other reviewers of past ownership have quoted great longevities from prior purchases -- hoping for the same!

Unit was great but only lasted 11 months
This time clock worked great and is simple to setup. Unfortunately the unit starting have issues after only eleven months of use. Would not record punches and failed to keep proper time. I contacted the seller but have not received a response. I will update this review if that changes.

Not compatible with Paychex Flex as sold, needs additional licenses for PTO tracking
This is an out-of-the box review. I have set the clock up, but have not done a full payroll run. This info would have been helpful to me at time of purchase though.1. The clock is NOT compatible out-of-the-box with the Paychex Flex import function as of October 2018. Paychex's default template will not work with this clock, so you have to request a custom "Non-Compliant Template" from your Paychex rep. They may have to get this from their database people if they do not know how to make one.2. As sold, this clock will only track Holiday PTO hours. Any further PTO reporting such as Personal, Vacation, and Sick time require additional licensing. The licenses are purchased directly from IconTime and they are not cheap. With just over 50 users, I am spending over $1,000 on a $400 clock for the upgrade to 50-500 users plus the PTO features.3. The clock is not capable of tracking PTO accruals for California, Washington, and other states that accrue PTO by hours worked. No statement from IconTime's rep on when/if this function will be added.4. The clock only comes with 5 Web-punch licenses. Additional can be purchased directly from IconTime.5. All button-presses on the clock have audible feedback that is, in my opinion, excessively loud. The volume is not adjustable according to IconTime- unless you want to open it up, cut some wires, and void your warranty. If you will be using PIN entry instead of proximity cards, I do not recommend installing it in a tiled entryway, public library, nap room, or anywhere near your office.6. It does not support PoE, even with a midspan injector. Whether you choose wifi or hard-wired, it must be installed near an outlet and secured from any mischievous employees. The upsides so far:-I found the clock easy to set up. It will connect to your network without fuss. You can set up SMTP or direct send for alerting supervisors of punch issues and emailing backups to the admin.-The permissions function is robust but uncomplicated. You can assign users individually or by groups to specific supervisors, limit their ability to edit punches for other departments, prevent employee editing, prevent data export, control visibility of wage info, etc.-The interface, though rudimentary and aesthetically unpleasing, is simple enough to navigate so it will be easy to train supervisors to use it.Downsides:- Little ability to customize the interface with things like column visibility and sort orders. It's a no-frills web UI, so I kind of expect that, but still find it annoying that I have to re-sort the employee list by Last Name every time I refresh the page. The default sort is an ID number, as if I know (or care about) the arbitrary number assigned to each of our 50+ employees. ??- The above mentioned comments about Paychex compatibility, expensive additional licensing, inability to track PTO accruals for certain states, annoying beeps, and lack of POE.That's it for now. I will update after completing our first payroll run (in parallel with our existing method.

Very functional, without the nonsense of the online clocks (features you'll never use anyway)
So much better than the overcomplicated online versions (of which we tried 3 different ones). Just a simple, easy to setup and use, time clock. No bells nor whistles. My only complaint, really, is that we have had an impossible time accessing the system outside of our actual network. Nothing in the documentation helps. So we can't get the time sheet info offsite (from home, for example). I small detail, but important to note.
