It works.
Some reviewers seem confused about how to use this winter bouy. I've had one for about 8 years now. On lake michigan. Up to 30 inch thick ice during cold winters. The bouy does what it is suppose to do. It sticks up in the ice when the ice is stationary. It slips under the ice when the ice moves. It always pops back up in the spring without damage. Then take it off and put on your summer bouy to moor your boat for the season.

I am impressed with it
Now to wait till ice out on Lake Champlain to see if it is still there and the ice did not drag the 500 pound anchor away!!

Floats Low in the water
I was expecting the Sully Stick to sit a little higher on the water so that it would stick out of the ice/snow when the lake freezes. Since the stick is white, it may be hard to see if riding a snow mobile in the area. I put a 6.5lb chain on it like it recommended but I think that may be slightly heavy so it brings it deeper in the water

Three Stars
Should be a little longer. High tide

short but does the trick
this is an item of very good quality, works well as long as you add weight to the bottom (a few chain links is what I used) The smaller size does not change its effectiveness. It stick out 18" from the water.A boat hook or piece of line (rope) is the easiest way to retrieve it in the spring as it is often wet and slippery.

sully stick 31"
receive my item and found no eyelet on top but a hex plug on top, this buoy has to be foam filled and weighted at the bottom to stand upright in the water. if you weight the bottom with a chain it will eventually wear the the plastic eyelet at the bottom and fill with water.a really bad design.......

Good sully stick
Got this one, tired of fighting with the large one I had was very heavy, like this one it's easy and seems very tough. I had to use 15 ft of attachment line as it would not float my 5/8 chain. But that maybe even better

Durable
Purchased to mark anchors through the winter and early spring. Super durable material and looks like it will last many years to come!
