ExceptionalSheets 100% Natural Latex Mattress Topper, White, Queen

When we got a $3500 king size Tempurpedic delivered from a large chain store, we were very disappointed at how firm the mattress was compared to what we tested in the showroom. Memory foam mattresses are known to have a "break in" period, but after 1 week of sleeping on a slab of concrete, both of our backs were sore and my wife woke up in tears throughout the night....it seemed as though the mattress would never break in to the level of softness we felt in the showroom. The store would allow us to do a comfort exchange after we kept the mattress for a minimum of 30 days... There is NO WAY we were going to sleep on this thing for another 21 days...(Lesson learned...DO NOT DISPOSE OF YOUR OLD MATTRESS UNTIL YOU ARE SURE OF THE NEW ONE!)after doing some research I was pretty sure we didn't want more memory foam on top and latex seemed like what we were looking for. My wife was just sick about the money we spent on the new mattress to only be in more pain....she didn't want me spending another $500 on a topper if the mattress was going back.That is when I found this topper which seemed reasonably priced and had 2 firmness's. I emailed the company and Rachel got back to me and assured me that if for any reason I didn't want to keep the topper they would take it back with free return shipping within the 30 days, so I had nothing to lose....even if I ended up returning the Tempurpedic.My wife and I are so pleased with the topper I can not explain how well it transformed my Tempur-crete-ic into a firm supportive mattress with a soft luxury feel on top...We also like how you don't sink in like you would with memory foam.We have been sleeping on it now for 2 weeks and are both sleeping much better than we have in years. Even if we end up returning the expensive Tempur mattress, we would probably go with an inexpensive firm mattress and use this topper for less than half the cost of the Tempurpedic!The entire mattress buying experience has been a nightmare as what you get in your house is not what you selected in the store...then you are stuck with it for 30 days min....and it seems price does not always indicate comfort or quality.I would recommend to anyone that need a supportive mattress with a soft feel to go for a firm mattress of your choice and a latex topper. I might end up trying a 100% Talalay topper next time...However they cost 3X as much as this one. and I'm doubtful you would get 3X the comfort. This topper has been a life saver at a great value!Even if I got a mattress that didn't need a topper I wouldn't send this one back...I would just use it in my RV. I'm happy to have purchased a great American made product from a company that offers some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.Edit:I wanted to add a few things:1. after reading the review I feel like a spokesman for the company, but let me tell you that I do not normally go out of my way to write a product review. The product or company either has to be really bad or really great!2. Fit: i was told by Rachel that the topper would be slightly shorter than my king 76 X 80" King mattress, However upon unpacking, it fit perfectly edge to edge, I didn't break out a tape measure to verify both mattress and topper, but can tell you it fit my Tempurpedic King perfectly.3. There was no detectable odor but even the Tempurpedic mattress didn't stink as much as some people reported....my tempurpedic pillow however, did stink for weeks...so it's not just that I'm not sensitive to the smell4. We are very happy using the firmer side of the topper, we figured we would start there and if we wanted it softer it's easy to flip...we don't feel the need to try the soft side yet. YMMV

My latex topper arrive in great condition,there where no rips or tears. I have sleep on it for only four days and I am very happy with the added comfort.I have slept on latex in the past and I am familiar with the pros and cons. The company said the top half is soft and the bottom is a medium firmness and I was afraid it would be too soft. I put the soft side up to test it out and it turned out to be more firm than I thought it would. If you have a hard mattress this is a nice topper to put on top. I'm a side sleeper and have been having pain in my hips and lower back and I have notice less pain with this latex topper. The only Question I have is what type of latex this is dunlop or talalay? There was no mention of either types of latex in the box and packaging, they only call it latex. I let it air out on my porch over night and any off gassing was gone, and there is no noticeable smell at all now. If you have never handled a latex topper before be careful not to tear it,do not grip it to hard or it will tear. To move the topper I rolled it up and bear hugged it. When you get it on the mattress lightly grab an end and flip it making a wave, and it will move in the direction you want. I hope this was helpful, I think reviews are important. I am glad I bought this topper and feel it has improved my sleep.

The seller of this product was top notch. I have no complaints with them. However, we ended up returning the latex topper because we (my fiance and I) didn't like how hot we would get at night and didn't feel the added padding was really making the difference we had hoped. We did a lot of research to find an environmentally friendly mattress topper for our insanely uncomfortable and old mattress. Unfortunately this topper was not the answer.The topper itself is as advertised in thickness, but the reality is a reversible topper doesn't make a lot of sense. Just think about it, if you want "more firm" you flip the soft side down and firm side up.....but in reality you're still laying on the soft side too, it's just upside down. This became very apparent and we noticed very little difference between the reversible sides (although there was more give on the soft side). The biggest problem was the heat (we heard people talk about it but didn't think it would be this bad). My fiance LOVES to be warm while sleeping (which I hate). But, we both found ourselves struggling to find a good temperature (on a freezing winter night) as our body on the topper was super toasty sweaty warm which caused us to pull the blankets off only to have our unexposed portions freezing, resulting in much tossing and turning.I would say if you have a reasonably comfortable bed already (I think part of our problem was just a crappy bed) and love to be warm this would be a good topper for you. We are currently sleeping on a memory foam topper from a big box retailer and are pretty happy with it....minus the horrible environmental impact (stupid conscience!).

We purchased this latex mattress topper to go on top of our existing 6" latex mattress. Getting a little older, my wife and I found that 6" wasn't really thick enough for us to sleep comfortably. This topper did the trick...our now 8.5" thick latex mattress is much more comfortable. Little to no back pain in the morning, and we fall asleep faster as well. There was no noticeable off-gassing of the mattress when it was unpacked either...took it out of its plastic cocoon, put it in a zippered up topper cover, and put it on the bed.I've deducted a star due to the fact that it took a really long time for this to show up...nearly a month. The company apparently fumbled the order, then they didn't have any in their warehouse, then they had to ship one in from someplace else. I actually received the first notice of a shipping delay in the form of a letter sent to us via UPS. Subsequent contact was via e-mail. To their credit they did finally ship it to us via 2-day FedEx.

We've been wanting this kind of mattress for a long time. Yesterday when we got it, we put it on our bed. It's been the most pleasant sleeping experience for me. It's not too firm; neither is it too soft. We will recommend the pure organic mattress from ExeptionalSheets to all of our friends.
