Easy Visual Scales

Since I bought this book a couple of weeks ago, I've been using it more and more in my teaching. The visual guide is the best I've seen, with the 'continuity' finger in brackets - it's the first time I've been able to explain how the pattern repeats and students actually get it - thank you, Alasdair Macaskill. I'll be using this and recommending it to my students for many years to come.

The presentation is clear and well-organised, I will use this book regularly to help my students learn scales. On the negative side, I felt the book was over-priced given that the arpeggios are not included (they are available separately) and it is no use for melodic minor scales. The production quality could be better. The cover very quickly curled up and the pages do not lie flat when opened.

Amazing clear book highly recommended

As a self-taught returner to the piano and appreciating the importance of practising scales and always putting them off. This booklet has opened new doors for me it clearly displaying how to play the scales I've always thought too challenging. So if you don't struggle with your E flat harmonic minor or your G flat major scales you'll not need this gem. Otherwise, it's a super tutorial.

I found this an excellent way of recognising scales. It provides both right and left hand diagrams. It includes other scales also which is very useful. I obviously did not expect it to include every scale but I would have expected it too include 'all' the Major and Minor scales at least not just most of them.

clear, concise, easy to understand, no extra extraneous text, it is my fave piano book. some people said the quality wasn't good, I thought it was really nice quality all around.

Easy to read. Perfect for the beginner. Had to fold the book back quite hard to get it to sit on the music stand. A good buy.

The quality is quite poor, the binding cuts off some of the information.But the concept is a good idea and I like how the key signature is printed with the scale.
