CTK PRECISION Ultimate Rail-Pod

I’ll start by saying this is pretty nice... it’s exactly as pictured, I like that it has 2 stages of extension and folds tight. So all those things are very positive - and at perhaps $79 would be a good value. However, here are a few additional observations: The first stage requires you to turn the shaft a quarter turn to lock... but it only turns about 40% of that because the ‘pin’ that rides in and out of the adjustment slot is too tight. It looks to be brass and is leaving residue each time I tighten and loosen which means it will eventually be able to fully seat, but also means it will likely continue to wear and then become too loose. Also when the first stage is fully extended it wobbles... clearly what’s left of the shaft inside the tube is either too short or milled far too loose. It’s NOT a big deal, but at this price, you’d expect better. The 2nd stage has a fine thread to extend... nice... but it take quite a while to fully extend and retract. There is no ‘quick adjustment’ on the 2nd stage which would be nice.Again, it’s a nice monopod... perhaps better than most...but nothing about it warrants the price.Note to manufacturer: If you think I just got a ‘less than optimal’ one, feel free to send me a replacement and I’ll send this one back and reevaluate. I want to give you a fair review however based on this one, I’m sorry, its significantly overpriced (in my opinion).

Solid mono pod. Construction is good. flips out of the way nicely and locks solidly. CONS, spring loaded quick deployment twist height feature can cause it to deploy too easily and unexpectedly, does not lock into place solidly. I was also expecting a way (second screw wheel?) on the finer adjustment wheel to level my rifle and set it so every time I deploy it I don't have to keep re-leveling. Height is as advertised. I expected more for the cost.

The Ultimate Rail Pod is pretty darned good! The build is robust and the quality is very good. It does weigh a bit however being used on the butt stock makes it unnoticeable. There are other monopods out there that enjoy better reviews but there is a trend that they require sling points and adapters. This is already set to go on a 1913 Picatinny rail. If i had to choose something to complain about i think i might mutter a bit about the rotating base being made of some sort of hard polymer as opposed to something like rubber. It slips a bit easily depending on the surface. Also, as strictly personal preferences go, i might prefer the button to unlock the bipod to be on the right side. I might try putting it on backwards sometime to see how it operates then. Oh, by the way, it looks really slick on a Magpul PRS.

OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! As a long range precision shooter I really enjoy being able to make large to minute elevation adjustments by using the fine adjustment wheel with my left hand, which is already cradling my rifle butt in the firing position. Initially I thought the price for the product was nuts, but after hearing glowing reviews from fellow snipers I gave it a try. The ease of being able to make simple elevation adjustmentswith out having to "break my cradle" has resulted in much higher accuracy in shots from 100 to 3,000 meters. I truly hope Amazon will restockthis product as it is difficult for some folks to find it elsewhere.

This is the very best mono pod I have ever used. Super quick to set up, and then you just twist left or right to raise or lower the stand for fine adjustments. Once dialed in it will make you laugh at how easy it is to hit your target 100% of the time. On paper you will have holes within holes.For me it is better than a "pillow-type" rear rest.

I can't deny this monopod is very high quality. The first stage on mine was a bit rough, but after applying a little grease it's smooth as silk. The folding lock mechanism has no play in it at all, very precision, again- very high quality. I gave it 4 stars because of its price.

Love this monopod. I was extremely hesitant to spend this kind of money on something so small, but man was it worth it! It’s seems like it’s built extremely well. It doesn’t feel like the rifle is on stilts, and when you’re using it the fine tuning will make the difference when taking those longer shots. I’m getting ready to buy my second one for another rifle. Great product guys!
