Very cute educational book!
My three year old and I have now read this multiple times. Not only is it a fun book to read, she has also learned a lot about bees and it has provided us ideas for some great discussions about how each of us also contribute to our community. The illustrations are great and the way it is written is fun to read!

Enjoy these Backyard Books
We have ordered the majority of the Backyard books for our daughter who loves science. Good explanation, fair illustrations. Has been great for preschooler, early elementary age child regarding understanding material and encouraging interest in science. Our favorites are "Are you a Ladybug" and "Are you a Butterfly" but all books have been informative and fun to read! We have even learned quite a bit as parents and one of us actually has a science background.

Very nice book
My three-year-old grandson was terrified of bees this spring, so much so that he wouldn't go outside. I bought this book for him (along with the National Geographic one) and now he is fascinated by bees, though he still keeps his distance. He spent days pretending to be a bee and told everyone how important he was.

Basic beekeeping story for kids
This is a nice basic overview of the life cycle of bees and ties it in to beekeeping loosely near the end by showing women beekeepers with their kids. There is no character development of any kind here.Very short with fairly accurate pencil and watercolor illustrations. Also recommended: The BeeMan by Laurie Krebs - a story that is more human-centric about a boy and his apiarist grandfather.

BEES
I quite like the format of this book. It tells the story of bees by asking questions. At the end it turns around to what a child is. The illustrations are terrific and the information is perfect for young children to understand. I was so impressed that I bought numerous other books that are by the same authors and done in the same format. They will work well in my classroom.
