Dogs love them!
The dogs love these. I feel a need to be very careful with them because they want to splinter into sharp shards. My dogs chew their food. I'd be more cautious of they were gulpers. Nonetheless, excellent product. I'd buy again. I might try putting a little something in the container to soften them up, e.g., apple slice or a piece of bread.

Edges seem too sharp!
Dog likes eating it but the pieces seemed to be too sharp and at least our middle aged dog seemed to have trouble while swallowing. We caught it up and she finished it but We wouldn’t order it again for that reason.

This is real jerky
You get a full pound! And the jerky isn't thin crisps like the rest that is available to buy. These jerky strips are normal and give my Maltese a good chew. He won't chew on toys or bones. He refuses to chew for the sake of chewing. He gets about a 5 inch piece of jerky at bed time. And he really looks forward to bed time. He whines at me when he feels I've stayed up too late, lol. When I get down to the bits and pieces of the bag, I soak them in water before he gets them. Otherwise, he would gobble down the dry pieces too fast and make himself gag.I've bought many bags and I have never had a problem. The only problem I had was when this was recently out of stock. I had to make do with the crisps until the pounder version was back in stock. Honestly, my dog doesn't care which Pets Eden he gets but I want him to have something that makes him chew.

It's good for cats too (but watch them while they eat.)
My cats love these jerky pieces, and they're one of the few brands suitable for cats. It even says it on the packet for once. Basically, you can feed any chicken jerky brands to cats (as treats, not as a main diet) as long as there are no softeners like propylene glycol or molasses in them, which cats can't digest. One of my cats can tolerate other brands which contain softeners, but my other cat would regurgitate the jerky some time after eating it. She can eat this brand with no trouble. As well as stating on the packet that cats can eat these (so it really ought to be in the product listing), it also states that you should watch "your dog" while eating. You should watch cats especially as some of them don't chew hard products like this sufficiently and you don't want them to choke or bite off too large chunks. Generally I hand feed these to my cats and make sure that they chew them. One of them has pica, which is an obsession with chewing inedible items, and jerky treats are a great redirection for him, so I was delighted to find treats that don't contain softeners.

This is the jerky dog treat you want. Hands down.
The best animal jerky I've seen yet!I didn't understand, until I tried to refill my dogs' duck jerky order that the consumption of dog treats can be fraught with peril for my beloved pets. I searched far and wide for US-made duck jerky but couldn't find it and hit upon this [really expensive] chicken jerky. I told my husband when I was waiting for the order to arrive that I was thinking about buying a dehydrator and making jerky for our dogs myself and he said, "Please don't."Looks like I won't have to. This stuff is expensive, but each piece is twice as big as the duck jerky treats I was giving my dogs. I think it'll last equally as long as the two lb. bag I used to buy. Also, it's clearly a well-made product and it even smells great. I'm a convert and I applaud this company for doing it right.

rotten smell
this is our 8th purchase of this product. My dog loved it. Yesterday when I received the pack and opened it up, a strong rotten smell came out the bag. I took one piece of the chicken out to smell, the smell was so strong that it is clearly not made of fresh meat. I am very disappointed we will no longer buy this product. I believe the company should have caught this quality issue/smell if they have proper inspection process.

The chicken, the whole chicken, and nothing but the chicken.
We're always on the lookout for better treats for our super senior dogs who benefit from quality treats that are easier on their system. We look for products with quality ingredients, that are low in fat, high in protein, with simple ingredient lists. This fits the bill! It's 100% chicken breast with a light hickory smoke. Our dogs happily crunch them down, and it's probably beneficial to their dental health as well to have a harder treat that takes a bit of chewing. The pound size bag does last a good while even with two dogs, and while the price may seem high, the peace of mind of knowing the source and that there are no sketchy imported ingredients is well worth it. In the long run, their health is worth getting better treats.
