It blows alot of air and metal blades are a plus but has a high pitch whistle it's faint but its extremely iratating when trying to sleep. If it's used while awake I don't notice it too much

This fan is simply a mover and shaker of the air ! I LOVE it.! There is not a one of the plastic models that I know of that come close to comparison. That would be like comparing apples to oranges. I decided I was tired of buying plastic blade fans that would only last a year or so, (not that long if they were bumped or vibrated off the table ) and decided to get a good fan. I got a GREAT fan . On low this fan moves the air equivalent to the plastic ones on high, so yes the electric bill will drop no doubt. I set this fan in front of my a/c and have it move the cold air out further into the room and once the room is cooled off I am able to turn the a/c off. YES using the words AC and OFF in the same sentence in Southeast TX this time of year is saying something ! Now make no mistake about this, the base is plastic, the motor housing is plastic the blades are not plastic, the cage is not plastic ! The cage is black as is the housing and the buttons (off through 3 with three being high ) and the knob ( that you can set the up to 60 min timer with ) are silver as are the shiny blades ! Nope there is no remote with this model ! One more note.. No this fan is not church house quiet, does it bother me no, it isn't that loud either. You gotta remember this fan is doing a job, its moving some serious air around !

Works well and is definitely worth the price!

If you want the wind ripping through your hair, this is the fan for you. One small downside is the noise at higher speeds though. This fan may be to much for small rooms, but is great for larger living rooms say. Easy to assemble and works very well. I had bought it for the bedroom, but it has found its home to the family room.

I purchased this fan in august of 2015 and it is now sept. of 2016 and the fan just stopped working. Never had a fan that just worked for a year, so I would say it's a bad fan. Worked good for the year though. Thought about maybe buying another one, like I said good when it worked and found out the price has gone form $38.00 to $58.00 in just a year. NOT GOOD guys. IT should be a great fan for that price increase and your fan is far from great.

Just got this fan to replace a plastic 12" fan that just was not moving enough air. The fan is very sturdy and is extremely easy to assemble. I was shocked at how much air this fan can move. The low setting moves double the air that my plastic 12" fan did on high. It's a great fan!! The only downside to the fan is the noise. It is not a quiet fan...at all! It is much noisier than my 6 year old plastic fan. However, it does not bother me at all. I sleep so much better with this fan and have it running at least 12 hours/day.

if you are looking for a quiet fan look elsewhere. this sounds like a small aircraft ready to take off. I happen to like the noise so not a big problem from me. I do like the powerful air flow it provides. It cools out entire large room.
