I hope so, but if it doesn’t, try spraying that pesky father-in-law with water or shaking a can of pennies when he approaches the couch.

It probably would not leak, but a cat can easily tunnel under the blanket (mine did). I have the same peeing problem with my cat - I ended up buying thick plastic covers for my couch and loveseat because they cover the full couch including the back. My cats have not tried to to get under them. The pee-er still sits on the couch but has not peed on the plastic in the 6 months we have had the covers. I just pull the covers off when I am using the couch and they go back on when I go to bed or leave the house. If used on the bed, I'm assuming it would keep the humans up at night. So would this work for overnight?

Any movement (over or under it!) would cause a crinkle noise. It's also insulating, so be prepared to be warmer. Are you a heavy sleeper? Or else wear earplugs LOL!
