I quit cigarettes for 2 years, when the pandemic started I started smoking again.Y-First year of pandemic: cigarettes-Second year: IqosPros:-Doesn’t leave you the horrible smell of tobacco that non smokers can feel from km of distance. Either in the fingers or in the mouth.-Teeth does not get yellow as the tar does not reach the mouth, it stays in the extra safe filter of the heets.-It allows you to smoke indoors- Taste is better than tobacco, and after this tobacco does not taste the same way as before, gradually you are re-educating your brain to obtain nicotine with the heets flavor, so you start disliking normal tobacco (my experience and other friends experience)Negative side:- It doesn’t fulfill the nicotine hunger as a normal cigarette, so you tend to smoke more heets as tobacco. (I used to smoke 13-15 cigarettes a day, sometimes less, versus the pack of 20 heets daily of iqos, there wasn’t a day that I smoked less than 20, more quite easily)- The part of being able to smoke Indoors: you can still smell the smoke for around 15-20 minutes, it’s not a tobacco smell but it’s still horrible, and almost all non smokers hate it.-It’s easier to get the habit of smoking more, as you can smoke in places that you couldn’t before. (More cigarettes to add to the count)-When smoking cigarettes I could feel the arm on my lungs, with iqos i could feel it on my throat (affecting my voice, mainly the power of my voice)- I got 10 times more addicted to heets than the normal tobacco, I was thinking about smoking one after everything I was doing, most of the times 2 in a row (when I never smoked 2 cigarettes in a row). There was something on this that just changed all my reward system. I don’t know if it was the taste, the way in which it was liberating nicotine, the intensity… I genuinely don’t know) but I am 26 years old and never been a compulsive smoker as I become when I discovered this.After a year smoking heets, I quit from all kind of nicotine products (including cigarettes), because of the level of addiction in which I found myself ( I hardly want to clarify that I never had a problem with alcohol or drugs, and that my previous addiction to nicotine was never like that)Is it better than tobacco? It may have less harmful substances reaching your body (besides I’m not a scientist and can’t prove it). What I’m pretty sure is that is a better business model than tobacco, as most of the countries are creating national policies to stop people from smoking, this is a perfect technique to evolve in the business model. I wouldn’t trust a company that can invest that many millions in marketing and a technology that plays with your brain.
