El Mar Furnishings 24-Bottle Classic Wood Wine Rack, Dark Brown

I purchased this item because of the enticing photographs and product description. The hardware is nothing more than questionable alder wood pieces (similar to white pine I believe?) and 12 screws that leave something to be desired when arguing for a "heavy and solid" description. It also is not as tall as it appears from the low-angle photo showing it in a staged setting. The top table piece is screwed down with 4 wood screws into 4 LARGE corner holes that have no covers for them. So, yes, the holes are visible.(something else you can't see from the low angle photos). And the wood can be scratched easily as we found out when we had to turn it upside down to puzzle-piece this thing together. I would return it if I could, but my wife assembled right away after opening it as a Christmas present without realizing the amount of money I paid for it. She couldn't believe the price. There are plenty of 24-bottle racks out there that provide the same quality at a lower price. I should have known better with no reviews having been written for it yet. I felt obliged to provide the first one.

Much smaller than I thought. Very sturdy, holds the bottles well but the top does show where you screw in the holes and there is no covering. This does provide the storage we needed but it doesn't seem as high end as it cost.
