High PeakOutdoors Cascade -40-Degree Sleeping Bag

I Was Cold....
When the temperature was 20 degrees I woke up very very cold.I put on extra socks and put this sleeping bag into another sleeping bag and layered 2 blankets on top to be able to keep warm. The sleeping bag is probably okay since I tried other sleeping bags (Western Mountaineering Bison -40 $1200 for it and was cold) Issue is probably due to my health problems, Low blood pressure and crohns disease. The Browning Denali -30 seems pretty decent for the price, Only my feet and legs were cold.I ordered a North Face Inferno -40 since I really need warmth desperately.Next I will probably end up moving to a warmer climate.

Not sure about -40º, but it's super warm
Realistically, I can't vouch that this is "good to -40º"; but I used it in an unheated AMC hut where the inside temperature was low enough to leave frost overnight, and I woke up at times feeling uncomfortably warm. (It was way too cold to open the bag for ventilation.) So... while I can't vouch that it'd be warm at -40º, I have no trouble believing it'd be comfortable somewhat below 0º.The only problem is that it's massive: heavy and large. If you really only need 0º, or 20º, you'd be better off buying a much lighter bag with a higher temperature rating. I wanted to be ready, and to some extent this was a test run, so I'm not sorry I got it.

Good value
Bought this sleeping bag for hunting this year. Great, comfortable bag. Blizzard like conditions with lows in the -20s, didn’t even notice. Heavy bag. Definitely not for backpacking.

Tested and approved
Definitely going to keep you warm. Only tested in Texas winter, but I feel comfortable heading into the wilderness in the most extreme of cold temperatures in this bag.

A well-made serious product
This bag is just what I wanted. It is very well made and equally comfortable. I slept in it in and a windy 20°F without zipping it up, and I was verycomfortable! It's an excellent value as well.I lived decades in arctic and subarctic Alaska, and am excited to use it on extended winter outings in the Koyukon Region. I recommend it to any serious outdoor person as well as to casual mild-weather campers. A+

very good value
These bags appear to be well made in regards to construction, when you consider the price they are an excellent value. I would not consider these to be comfort rated to -40 even with a good pad, would they keep you from freezing to death? Most likely. You have to understand that if you want a rated -40 below summit or extreme weather bag, your going to go for down and your going to pay hundreds for a single bag and still need a pad. These bags are heavy and they do not compact to a small size. They are ideal for either car camping, or perhaps an Alaskan bug out bag, should the necessity arise. Yes you could stuff one in a large backpack with gear (tent etc) and go for it, and yeah if your a strong individual probably not that bad in regards to weight. I am impressed with the quality, and I purchased these more for emergency use than regular packing. I live in Alaska and we get -20 spells here (Homer), at times in storms the elec goes down, which means my Toyo stove goes down too. God forbid we have an earthquake or some such that puts our family in peril, ergo these bags. For this purpose they will be great. If you can find (2) heavy duty winter well constructed and designed bags delivered for $200.00 better than these I'd like to hear about it soon, I'll be purchasing (4) more of these in short order. Really, you cant go wrong with these bags. I'd like to recognize the seller CampingMaxx for the family approach to customer service.

Good quality for the price!
I'll mirror the other review on this one. We got the matched set and you can't beat the price. I wouldn't take it out in -40 temps but it will certainly keep you warmer than the average sleeping bag. They are bulky, but then again they are cold weather bags. They won't compress down for true backpacking/hiking in the back country but will do the trick for throwing them in the back of the truck for heading to the campsite for an early spring or late fall outing. We have been pleased by the construction and comfort. Do yourself a favor and make sure you get a sleeping pad to put underneath any sleeping bag you may use as it makes a big difference in your comfort level.Either way, you can't beat the price!

Like other's say It's heavy and bulky
Like other's say It's heavy and bulky. I'll still winter camp with it though. I tried unsuccessfully twice to buy a -20 ledge sports bag.
