Unfinished Solid Oak Step Stool With Solid Tread 11 ½" Tall

I needed a sturdy stepstool to help me on and off my high-rise bed, and this one caught my eyes. In terms of appearance, it looks like unfinished wood. With a bit of sanding, it could be painted in a color of choice for someone who likes the product but would prefer it in a different color. It is very sturdy, where one does not have to worry about it collapsing underfoot, and safety was an important consideration for me. The one concern I've had is that the surface, especially on the top step, is very smooth, perhaps too smooth. That sometimes concerns me, in that I believe I could easily slip on it. (That has not happened though.) I think that concern could be easily resolved by affixing some sort of textured material to it. I've thought of gluing on a strip of textured, upholstery. Still, this step-stool has worked very well for me and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

The Step Stool is not nailed, stapled or screwed together. Old fashioned tongue and groove joining. I have not yet put a finish on it but I will match the tone to my early 1900's American Oak bedroom set.
