These shells are great!My son has a hermit crab named Thunder Crab, who came to us in a shell painted all blue with an image of Thor on it. While adorable, I later learned that painted shells aren’t necessarily good for hermit crabs, so we were trying really hard to find a way to get him to switch shells. Shells bought from our local store did not work and I finally googled and found out why—they were just way too big and did not have a similar shape to the one Thunder Crab came in. We needed a turbo shell and we also needed to soak it in salt water before putting it in the cage!All that to say, this selection of shells had a great variety of sizes and all I had to do was soak the shell, put it in the tank overnight, and voila: Thunder Crab has a new home! The coconut hideaway is a bonus and has become his favorite hiding place.FYI: a few of the shells are super tiny, but we like them as decoration around the house. You will get a good selection of other shells, which should be enough for a few crabs.Bottom line: just what the hermit crab ordered.

I took a chance and ordered this set to provide possible new homes for my grandsons' hermit crabs. I've come to the conclusion that buying shells, sight unseen, for this purpose, is not a good idea. Size descriptions (small, medium, and large) seem to be based on the sellers a subjective opinion. And unfortunately, three of the most likely shells were chipped around the opening Anne had sharp edges. Seven of the shells are in the crabitat, and there is evidence that the hermies have checked them out, but none are being actively inhabited - - yet. The coconut shell but was put to use in the crabitat, and is a popular retreat for the smaller hermies. Would not recommend this set because most of the shells were not appropriate, either because they were damaged or because they were too small.

Just as described / an assortment of hermit crab shells and a coconut hide. The sizes were a nice assortment of medium and large shells - a few were too small for my littleHermit crab to use but most were ideal. No Xl shells were included in my order so my larger hermit crab will not be able to enjoy these shells.

This was a good purchase. All of my hermit crabs switched into new shells within a short amount of time. We received a good assortment of colors and sizes. Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase! (The hut was a nice added perk!) I would recommend this seller to others.

Some of the shells arrived damaged, but most were fine. I boiled them and after allowing them to cool put them in my crabitat. Two of my crabbies switched shells that night! They seem to be loving their new shells so I'm happy too.

These are perfect there quite and assortment of sizes. I'd say these are best for smaller crabs. 1- 2 inches. The coconut hid out is really great. My crabs seem to like there new stuff. Really good value

I did get a few larger shells but the best shell in the pack has a small shell lodged in it and we can’t get it out, so it’s useless. 5 shells are broken. It was very poorly packaged, throw in with another item and no bubble wrap at all. The coconut hide is nice but if you’re buying for the shells don’t waster your money.

Thankfully the package had 3 shells that were a little bigger than the others. Hermit crab shot straight to the biggest one and moved within a min or two. Whole family got to watch which made it pretty cool. Only 4 stars cause shells are the same size. Glad we got em in today he looked cramped.
