Can i use this with the idcore 150 amp or would that be redundent???

It would be redundant. This is an amplifier head, which you would use to drive a separate speaker cabinet. The idcore 150 is a combo, which includes both the amplifier and the speaker cabinet in a single unit.

Buy a modeling combo for proper speaker voicing and realistic sound reproduction

The ID:Core40 Combo is identical to this model and has built-in speakers. The speakers are voiced perfectly for the amp. Perfect for home practice.The ID:Core40 depends on the voicing of you stereo speaker cabinet. It will be random chance that you will have speakers that sound good paired with this head.I had problems with the ID:Core40 Head's power amp cutting out.I would recommend purchasing the ID:Core40 Combo for just a few dollars more.If you need a looper pedal (and who doesn't?) you can get the new high-power ID:Core100 for the additional cost of a $100 looper pedal.
