If you've priced D shackles anywhere, you know these are cheaper than just buying ONE at a hardware store. PLUS these are STAINLESS STEEL. They're well made and even look good. If you are looking at these, BUY THEM. I'm not sure how long this price will last.... but I am buying more, just to have extras.

The one dimension not listed on the product description is the diameter of the pin. On many shackles, the pin diameter is more than the diameter of the rest of the shackle, so I measured it. Pin is just a hair over 7/16", or just a bit under 12mm, so slightly thinner than the rest of the shackle.Shackles appear well made. I needed something for my ATV hitch, which wouldn't accommodate the 7/8" pin on my 3/4" shackles, and so it was easier to buy these smaller shackles than drill out the thick steel to handle a larger pin.Seem to be a good grade of stainless. I've seen a few reviews that complain they weren't that strong. You're buying stainless, and due to its low carbon content, it's softer than typical carbon steel. You can get these in non-stainless, if strength is more important than rust resistance.

These are smaller than I thought they would be, my fault I did not read description well enough. Will use them on a smaller project though.
