Sorry, no. It actually makes them more annoying.

I played the video and noticed my sleeping pup didn't even twitch an ear. ??

All I can tell you is that the one time I was forced to use it to stop an aggressive dog who was charging at me and my pup who was on leash, the dog stopped dead in his tracks. Each time he started to advance, I used it and waved my arms and shouted, probably five times till his owners came along and put him on a leash. Of course they stated he would never of hurt us, but the dog pulled aggressively on the leash until they were a good block away.

Is the sounds heard by humans?

Yes! The sound is loud, but normally only needs to be used for a few seconds. As a bonus, it can be heard from a distance making it a great distress alarm, signal to others in a group, or loud bike horn for passing cars.

How to replace battery

Remove 2 screws at the bottom by the clip, then remove the cover. Now you have access to the batteries to remove them.
