My physical therapist recommending getting something like this to use to lie on my back for 15 minutes per day in order to get a back stretch, since I use the computer a lot and my arms are in the forward position for extended periods. Get the three-foot length and put your whole spine and head on it, using pillows to cushion your head. It's hard at first, but you get used to it and it gives you a good stretch. You can vary technique by putting your arms out to the side and raising them overhead. You can also do crunches on it. Seems to be effective at opening up the discs in the spine that tend to stick in position over time. Lightweight, attractive, sturdy, effective.
