Taylor Little Sheller, The Pea and Bean Sheller

Just received my sheller today it came a day late. I understand I ordered during pea season so they were backed up on orders. After putting it to gather seems to be a nice sheller like the ones I used about 18 years ago. Some of the edges are a little sharp feels like it could cut you if you’re not careful. I will go around the top either file it down or put some type of edge guard on it. I will be testing it out this weekend.

After years of hand shelling 2-3 years ago we bought the pea sheller that would hook up to a cordless drill. Wow.....that improved shelling peas a lot! However, it would basically take 2 people to operate. After hubby planted 16 rows across and about 4 blocks long of black eyed peas this year and they made really good....we finally talked him into purchasing this sheller. He was dubious about it being "worth the money". Well, after we were able to shell out 25 gallons of picked peas in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours he changed his tune. This machine would have been a dream of my grandmother and aunts who would pick in the early morning, sit on the porch and shell all day to can in the evening. Very little loss. Easy to clean up. Everyone is so jealous of me!! Including my family, we have put up over 300 pints of peas both canned and frozen. Don't worry about this being a waste of money.......it is worth every penny!!

Big but really expensive.

My friends parents got one of these in the 70sI borrowed it and had to have one. No other pea or bean sheller comes close. Of course I grow a lot of peas, 80 5 gallon buckets full last year. Probably more than that this year.

I ordered the sheller and before it arrived I found one a friend had that was his grandparents. He let me have it and even though the machine is several years old it looks like the design has not changed at all. Without it we would of been lost this year. If you have a lot of peas to shell I highly recommend ordering one.

Well worth the money. Sturdy and easy to operate. Fast!!! I grow purple hull peas and this thing makes a dull job into almost fun.

I am extremely pleased with my Taylor Little Sheller. It works great. I wish that I had purchased one years earlier.
