I have used this fire mat several times now and it works as described. I’ve had hot ash fall on it with no issues. When I’m done, I just wipe it off fold it up and put it away for next time. Can’t get easier than that plus I think the price is very fair.Warning update:While recently camping a large hot ember landed on the mat. I didn’t have tongs to pick it up and put it back in the stove so I just left it alone. I’ve had other small embers land on it with no issues. When I went to pack up the mat, my canvas tarp and my vinyl tarp both were melted completely through where the ember was sitting. The fire mat was not damaged. The heat transferred through the mat and literally melted my two tarps underneath it. If this mat was sitting on top of my wood deck, I believe it would have scorched it or worse.Buyer beware.

I have a Duraflame fire pit, similar to the Solo Stove. I searched on Amazon for a protective mat to put under it and found this one. Don't be me; read the precautions. It states you have to maintain 10 inches of space between the fire pit and the mat. It totally burned my grass and the Fire Pit Mat. I do have to say this makes me question the claim that the mat can withstand temperatures up to 2200℉, but I digress. I didn't follow instructions, and I got burned. Don't be me; read the warnings and keep shopping for another option.Updated the review from 1 star to 4 star because of customer service. The company has good customer service and contacted me about my review. I didn't read the warnings, but they still stood by their product.

Did NOT protect my composite deck from the heat of the fire pit. Tis pat started to stick to the decking and had to be pried off. It also start to curve up and collect water.

Works Great, as advertised.

We have a composite deck at our cottage. We placed our, fire pit with legs on the fire protection mat on the deck and had several fires over a two-week period. When we were putting things away to return home we moved the fire pit. When we went to remove the mat it was stuck to the deck and when we did get it up from the deck it had left part of the underside of matt and the decking was all blistered. When we bought this productive mat it did not say it should not be used on composite material. now I have a big ugly spot, about 2 ft. wide on my beautiful deck,

Day 1 looked great. After a couple weeks it started curling up around the complete edge. Nothing like having a trip hazard around an open fire pit. Would return it but, of course, I’m just beyond the return window.UPDATE: I am still not satisfied with the curling edges but the suppliers quick response and resolution was inspiring. I would not be afraid of buying other items from this seller in the future knowing their “after sale” customer service was amazing. I adjusted my review up to a 3-star because: The customer service deserved a 5-star even though this item is a 2-star. I feel actually rating the product a 5-star would be deceptive to other potential buyers since the product did not perform. A 3-star is my best compromise.
