What are dimensions for this cover? i have ikea & need 14 x 33 minimun to go over board to fasten.

I am not taking the cover off to measure for I probably would not get it back on correctly. The length of the board is 30" and width is 12" at its longest and widest part. There is over lapping on the sides, but don't believe it would give you an additional 2 inches, maybe one inch. The length at the tip could give you an additional 2" making only 32".

Will this work ok on a bed?

I use this on my bed all the time. I fold the blankets back to make a clearer/more safe work surface, but the board itself is stable on a mattress. I would recommend not resting the iron on the bed though, I use a folding sidetable when I put mine down.

Where is the metal mesh pictured in the description?

The metal mesh is the material of the top of the board.
