Spliced in a 100 Ohm resistor to reduce the exhaust fan speed and that easily cut the fan noise in half ...
I bought this for my son's birthday for his dorm room. I takes up less space than a TV and to be honest he never watches TV anyway. Just Netflix, YouTube, ESPN and torrents. The only knock I have on this projector is its loud exhaust fan. I took the projector apart (there are only five screws...one on each corner and one in the middle) and it has a nice aluminum heat sink with copper heat pipes running to an aluminum radiator that the exhaust fan blows across. There are actually two fans inside the projector, one somewhere inside the light path I couldn't see perhaps cooling the LCD panel and/or optics and the exhaust fan which is the louder of the two. I took a chance and spliced in a 100 Ohm resistor to reduce the exhaust fan speed and that easily cut the fan noise in half. We'll see how long the LED bulb lasts with the reduced cooling but LED's are fairly rugged and this projector is so inexpensive that it was worth the risk.UPDATE: After a month in the dorm room and many hours of operation my son reports that the projector is still working great with the reduced fan speed.UPDATE #2: After 4 months the projector is still going strong with the reduced fan speed.UPDATE #3: My son is back home from college for Christmas break and brought home the projector so I opened it up to take pictures of the resistor I had added to reduce the fan speed/noise. It was a red and black wire, not red and white.

Decent projector with a few flaws.
UPDATE: Roughly 14 months after purchase, the projector overheats and turns off after only a few minutes of running. I used it for maybe 10 hours a month since I've owned it, but even that little use is apparently too much for it. Would no longer recommend to anybody. Spend the money on a name brand projector. This is a decent projector, especially for the money, but it does have a few problems that keep me from really loving it.The picture is actually pretty decent for what it is. If you are watching darker movies, you will definitely need a dark room, but watching animated shows like Bob's Burgers or anime show a bright crisp picture, even in rooms with a fair amount of light. The amount of outputs this thing has is impressive, especially for this price point. Unfortunately, the hdmi inputs are a little close together, so if you use a chromecast or firestick, they most likely won't fit next to each other unless you get extension adapters. The USB ports are great, you can hook up usb drives to watch your stuff, or use them to power your firestick/chromecast.But like I said, I have a few problems with it.The fan noise coming from this thing is insane. It is seriously loud. The speaker in the projector is really terrible, you'll want to get external speakers. Unfortunately, if you use external speakers, you can't use the remote to change the volume, so you either need to connect it to speakers that have a remote, or get up to change the volume every time.I fixed this by opening up the projector, cutting the wire to the internal speaker, and splicing it with a 3.5mm cable that I hooked into the aux input on a pair of computer speakers. Now I have better sound quality, and can use the remote to change the volume.Speaking of the remote. It's really bad. The range of the IR receiver on the projector must be very limited, because unless I'm standing directly in front of the projector, holding the remote in line with it, it won't work. Makes turning this thing on and off incredibly inconvenient. It is easily the worst remote I have ever used.If you can handle those 3 inconveniences, then it is a pretty decent projector. I don't think I'd buy it again, I'd most likely shell out for a more expensive projector, but for just watching youtube or netflix on a big screen, it's pretty good.

It's great at first.
I bought this projector about 5 months ago, and it was really nice at first. Great quality for the price. Unfortunately the quality didn't last long. About 3 months into owning this device a dark cloud appeared and grew bigger over time. I did as the box said and never watched more than 3 hours, and still this happened.I would also like to add I bought the insurance plan with this, but they didn't help me in any way. Since I've only had the projector for a few months it's still under warranty and they won't do anything to help. I've tried calling iRulu many times and have never gotten an answer. In my opinion both companies could do a little better with customer service.

Such a fun new experience
Straight to the Point:My Use: Just for funPicture: Can't complain, above my expectations especially when it's darkBrightness: Can use in a room that is not pitch black, and even with lights on in the roomSound:Built-in sound isn't the greatest, but if you're close to the projector it works. Can hook up additional speaker easilyLocation: ~10ft from the wall and projects on 2/3 of the opposite wallOverall: I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something new and fun. Provides a neat experience. Would never buy one for 3x the price after using this one.It is awesome. I didn't want to spend a ton of money, so I took a shot with this one and haven't been disappointed. I chose this one because of the 2600 Lumens, I wanted something that I'd be able to use during the day as well, when I can't get my room super dark, and it works great. I bought some cheap room darkening curtains that make the room dark (not pitch black), and the picture is still great. I can also see it just fine with some lights on in the room. I have it set up in an extra bedroom about 9-10 feet from the wall, and it projects on almost the whole wall. It has plenty of different ports, so i am able to hook up a dvd player, my computer, or my cable box. The projector sits right next to where I sit to watch, and the sound is good enough for there. The sound of the fan from the projector itself does impede on some of the sound however. I usually watch with the built-in sound, but have also attached an external speaker via a headphone cable for when I want more movie theater like sound. All in all, don't know why you'd spend 3 times as much for a projector when this one does the trick!

He tenido que devolverlo. perdiendo tiempo y dinero.
