Gets my guitars safely out of the way
This item matches the photo exactly, except it is branded with Proline instead of FretRest. That's something I can live with, even if my old FretRest one doesn't match. As far as I can tell, they are otherwise identical.I have 3 guitars, and usually just kept them locked away in their sturdy cases. We have an active dog and a curious cat, so keeping them out in the open seemed like a flirt with danger. I don't play every day, but I do enjoy a few licks here and there. Putting all 3 guitars on the wall on these hangers (sold as a set of 2) got my instruments safely away from the animals and within reach at any time. Plus, my guitars now take up much less room... an added bonus. These hangers are made strong and keep the backs on the guitars safely away from the wall. If you want to be super careful about it (I live in earthquake country) just stick a small foam pad behind the guitar body, to prevent accidental whacks against the wall.Great product. Highly recommended.

Design change? (lettering on the base)
Love these hooks. I have 9 total now, holding everything from heavy Les Pauls, PRS's, and other heavy mahogany-bodied guitars (Ibanez's). These things are solid. I have them directly into studs and trust them completely.I simply wanted to add (for those as OCD as me) that the lettering on the base between the first few that I ordered (about a year ago) say "FRETREST" on them, whereas the ones I ordered earlier this week (9/30/18) say "PROLINE". Fortunately, the headstocks cover this fairly well when a guitar is hung, but it's something to note, as the pictures still show the "FRETREST" lettering, and at least for me, I wanted them to all be the same visually.Other than that, these things (while they are a tad bit more than some of the other hooks on Amazon), are definitely worth the extra $5 or so per hook. Don't hang your $x,xxx guitar from a cheapo hook.

Nothing like having all my axes on display
I now have guitars and basses all across one room in my house and I love it. Not only do these keep my axes on display but I can grab one whenever I have the desire to. No going and digging out a case. The only thing I don't like are the plastic sheetrock mounts. I end up replacing them with something more substantial.

We All Have Our Hang-ups...
.... these are mine. They work great. They look good. The do not mar rhe guitar finish. They are strong and will hold any guitar that fits on them as long as you use the right wall fasteners.

High Quality Wall Hangers
I bought a different brand before I saw these at a friend's house. Luckily I hadn't installed the first ones I got. I returned them and got these. The Fretrest hangers are high quality, swivel in case your guitar doesn't hang truly vertical, and looks great on the wall. They also stick out far enough that my acoustic guitar doesn't touch the wall. I mounted them directly into the studs to hold a 8 1/2 lb archtop Wildkat.Highly recommended.

This is the one to get.
I have bought lots of these after experimenting with other brands. This is the one you want. Well designed, easy to install, and sturdy. I also have not found a headstock that doesn't fit well.

you might have to take this product apart and modify it to make it functional
i dislike that i had to disassemble three of them, modify on my bench grinder and reassemble in order for them to function properly... i like that since i was ABLE to modify them i got a decent product at a fair price

Good
One of them arrived chipped but it can be colored with a marker. They do the job.
