Draper 46609 Expert Metric Dial Test Indicator Kit & 37349 Carbide Tip Pocket Scriber

Working on milling machines, I need to use one of these every day so I decided to buy one of my own rather than keep looking for the factory floor DTI.The plastic box it comes in won't win any design awards but it is functional and keeps everything safe.The magnetic base has a good weight to it. The magnet is strong and doesn't move when fixed to a good surface. The base also has a recess so it can be easily fixed to round surfaces.The actual DTI itself works well. There are three stylus attaching areas on the DTI, these are small dovetails. The fine adjustment mechanism for setting up the DTI on a job works well. After two weeks of use, I haven't found any problems.I haven't used the DTI with plunger yet but it looks OK and comes with plenty of extra tips which should suit most jobs.

Excellent quality Draper DTI with magnetic support base and extension, with various accessories. For the serious machinist and engineer.

I have mixed feelings over this. The first: there is no country of origin on any of the pieces; the box just says "imported by". Second, the 0-25mm dial back plate is plastic. Don't know how durable that will be, as there is a mounting lug there. Doesn't scream professional use to me.The mechanisms seems quite good though, the mag base is good, and having a variety of points is a real plus.

Not much good to say about this set. The plastic case which holds the set will easily take skin off your knuckles and cut your fingers.The gauges both work ok as far as I can tell. The dial cases are made of plastic so there's an indication that they're cheaply made. The magnetic stand is ok, it works.There is a 6mm and 8mm stylus(a short bar that attaches to the back of the dial via a dovetail slide). Unfortunately the smaller 6mm stylus will not fit into the 4.5mm hole provided in the clamp, very poor quality control. I've emailed Draper about this and although I have a reply to say that their technical department would be in touch, I've so far received nothing.Yet another example of outsourced production that yields rubbish and you can probably forget about cusotmer support.

Excellent well packaged product it is as discrided it has more accesories with it than I personally wanted so it will cover most jobs requiring accurate measurements.

So far so good. But I haven't used it yet.
