Vanish Miracle Serum, Whitener for Clothes, 100 ml

I bought this being really sceptical about wheather it truly works or not and I am shocked at the results. I tested with 5 items, 2 cotton jersey sweaters one grey, one navy both of verying ages, wear and Pilling, a red Wales rugby jerseys and a navy blue long sleeve RL polo both showing wash fading, patchy colour, some threading and staining and a third synthetic long sleeve polo which has lots of Pilling. The grey Jersey sweater came out like new inside and out, the blue jersey sweater came out well colour wise but still had some Pilling but it was the worse of the two, the red rugby top came out like new colour wise and free of stains and threading or pilling, the navy polo surprised me the most as dark coloured cotton polo's fade terribly and end up lookimg patchy as they age but this came out almost like new, it certainly looks miles better and the colour is even and dark again. The only item that didn't show any change was the synthetic polo which isn't surprising as they do say cotton is best. I will be using this again for sure, especially with higher end brand garments to keep them looking their best for longer .The only down side is the amount you can wash in one load and the time it takes especially if you have a smart washer that weighs the load and then sets the time, you end up having to add extra things like a pre-wash and extra steam cycle to get the time up to 2hrs with so little weight to the load.

Made all my clothes look brand new again and they still do after a few more washes. Not the cheapest of products but definitely cheaper than buying a new set of outfits.

The product is good for restoring colour to clothes. Used on black jeans and some coloured t-shirts and it has reinvigorated the colours. Removes some bobbles but not completely.My only issue here is the price…I bought 3 bottles of this for £7.49 in June 2023, it’s been out of stock for months since.I understand supply and demand and also I should have read the description which said 1 bottle. Nevertheless I had expected 3 bottles for the £8 I spent, so when I received 1 bottle I was surprised.

Packaging - set of 3 in plastic bottles, no seal, there had been some leakage.I used this on an old wool horse blanket. The instructions said not to use on synthetics, wool or silk. I ignored that because the blanket was horribly bobbled and a shaver would not not have resolved it, I just could not stand the sight of it like that any more.The product is very easy to use, has a fairly neutral scent, but you can add additional detergent and conditioner. The blanket was washed on a 30 degree cycle for 1hr 50minutes plus two additional rinse 1400 spins (not recommended for wool normally).I take the blanket out, and the wash appears to have consolidated the bobbles into felted balls around an inch in diameter with a good sprinkling of smaller felted lint that fell out as the blanket came out of the drum.The small bits of lint remaining on the item can be removed by hand. It has worked well I think.So why 4 stars? You may have some clean up to do, that is vacuuming around the washer as a lot of the lint in addition to the bigger bits shed as you take the item out.In my case I needed to do 3 machine lint removing rinses and an additional wash with an old microfibre cloth because it'll pick out what's left. If there's a lot of lint be prepared to clean out the filter.That's the downside if you do this with wool.The blanket looks great, but the work to clean up afterwards not so great.Obviously I'd wanted to test it and next time I'll look at clothing that could do with a refinish, quite what that will be I'm not sure and I'll revisit this review.Hopefully that's of use to you.

Bought this to revive some white work tunics of mine. They were greyed from several mixed washes. I used this product to save me some cash, and ended up using two of the bottles of serum. The first wash lifted a tiny bit of the greyness but they were nowhere near fully restored so i opted for a second round, this time i threw a colour catcher in with the wash and the difference is really amazing. They don’t look brand new but most of the greyness is gone.I ran the wash with three tunics (33% cotton 67% polyester) on a long cycle at 40C with a colour catcher sheet. Recommended for lifting whites but I haven’t tried it for debobbling so can’t comment on that.

Sadly, I was hopeful based on other reviews, but I followed the instructions to a T and my clothes looked exactly the same. The bobbles, which supposedly it removes from cotton, were all still there, as were the stains. I then had to wash them again to get the chemical smell out. Waste of money.

As the final year is really only 3/4 year and lots of exams in between too I didn't want to spend out on new white shirts as the previous ones all fit well but had now got a grey tinge instead of bright white.Rather than send useful clothing to the fabric waste mountain it makes much more sense to revive them to their natural colour than just give up on them.Spring into action with Vanish, bring the whites back and save money at the same time. Win Win

I followed the instructions to the letter. There were five cotton tee shirts that had spots left on from a previous wash.I applied the product, left for 10 minutes, and washed in a hot wash. Four looked absolutely no different and the fifth was only a slight bit lighter.There are cheaper and easier to obtain products that will give this exact same result.
