Really like these shelves
Really like these shelves. We recently moved into a new house and installed 64 lineal foot of SafeRack shelving in the garage which I am really happy with. I can literally do pull-ups on those shelves and they don't give. I had a section of the garage that would only accommodate 36" width shelves so I tried these. These were just as easy to mount as the SafeRacks and I can do pull-ups on these as well. I mounted them at 2-foot intervals, 4,6,8 and 10 feet and they really hold a lot of stuff without taking valuable floor space. Their sturdy enough to hold a 4 gallon air compressor on one shelve and a 4500 watt generator on another. These shelves are a really good value and I recommend them.

Great customer service from HyLoft
I was looking for a shelf to hold my center channel speaker over my LCD TV. The speaker weighs ~30lbs, so I needed something I could trust to not come crashing down on the TV. This shelf certainly fits the bill. The thing I'm most impressed by was the customer service of HyLoft. The shelving arrived in pretty battered shape - the box looked like it'd been dragged behind the UPS truck for a while, and was partially open. One of the shelves was visibly bent. The instruction brochure said to call HyLoft directly if there were any issues, which I did, and left a message. I got a call a day later, and they quickly shipped out a new shelf to me (only the shelf, not any of the supports, as they were all in fine shape). No arguing or cross-shipping, which was nice.As others have noted, installation is a bit of a chore - not so much due to measuring and whatnot, but simply screwing the anchors into the studs requires quite a bit of exertion. Certainly not a shortcoming of the product, as it's clear you're anchoring the shelf securely to the wall studs. At first I was a little unsure of having a 30lb speaker suspended over my $1100 TV, but the shelf is holding it just fine, and shows no signs of fatigue or struggling with the load, even though it's weighted more towards the front of the shelf. For $50 a pair, this is definitely a good solution for this type of application. Not the most aesthetically pleasing shelf out there, but not an eyesore either.

Hold up to 160lbs and have the ability to move the mounting hardware to match wall studs
These are very sturdy, and each can hold up to 160lbs. Depending on where you install them, you need to make sure they are dead center in the wall studs for them to be safe. The nice thing about these shelves is that you can move the arm to where your studs are located many wall studs are not 16" to center so this makes the process much easier compared to others.

Great Product, But Get the Right Size
I bought 12 boxes of these (24 shelves) after measuring my garage. The product is great. After hanging three or four I got into a groove and the remaining ones took no time at all. I did not have the problem with the head of the screw coming lose on any of them. However (and this is a big however), be aware that if you are intending to put one right next to the other, the 36 inch version will NOT install properly on standard 16 inch studs. When one thinks about it a bit, this makes sense. But if you have standard studs, you need the larger size. You can work around this by varying the distance between the brackets and stabilizing them by hooking then together with the ties. But if you do this, be assured that they will not be able to handle excessive weights on the ends of the shelf. That said, this is not a defect in the product so it does not reduce the number of stars.

Excellent customer service
Product box was severely damaged in shipping, and was missing some parts. Customer service mailed the missing pieces right away and I had them within a week. It's a very well made and heavy duty shelf. I will seek out HyLoft products in the future.

Outcome could be good or bad
I put an entire row of these (or the 15" x 45" versions) along a wall of my garage. All of them went perfectly well until the last rack. When I opened up the box, I realized I was missing both right mounts. I called after hours and left a message for Diamond Storage Concepts. They called me back early the next day and quickly sent 2 new right brackets. The problem was that they changed their 18" brackets and they were no longer usable with the old 18" brackets as they were about 3/4" higher. These new brackets are useless to me with the height difference (already drilled pilot holes and inline row). I called again to explain the issue. The man, who was always nice, didn't even know about the height change in the brackets. I eventually sensed frustration with him, but seriously, who is the one who should be frustrated here? In any case, they eventually found and sent old style brackets that worked.I read other comments on the lag screws breaking off and attributed that to over torqueing them. However, I can attest that even hand tightening them can result in lag screw failure and I'm someone very cognizant of torque. I do believe that the bolts are inferior. It seems to me, although I am not 100% sure, that the bolts for the 36x18 are less robust than the 45x15 version of these racks. I had no issues with the 45x15 versions of the racks. Also note that the new style brackets only have 2 lag bolts instead of 3. I think they should have stuck with the original 3 as that compensates better with the possible bolt issue.Bottom line, these are pretty good racks, but it seems they have some quality control issues. I prefer the 45x15 versions over the 36x18. In either case, with the possible QC issues, you could end up with a good storage rack or something less than ideal. I would still recommend them as they are handy and a good design. Diamond seems to stand behind their products. I would just inspect the products before proceeding with the installation of several of them.
