MG Chemicals453-NS Desoldering Braid #3 No Clean Super Wick Desoldering Braid, 0.075" Width x 50' Length, Green

I have tried two other brands of desoldering wick with limited success (even when brand new).I tried this brand and the results were like night and day compared to the others. With this brand, the solder was wicked/absorbed far more effectively.This brand has flux impregnated in the copper braid. I don’t remember if the others I’ve tried had the flux.This stuff works great!

The first inch or so that sticks out of the spool didn't work at all but I have had that same issue with other brands too. It removed capacitors from a TV power board like a champ. It does say it has flux in the braid but I always use a no clean flux paste with these, it works quicker that way. It's a good product, use the end of the wick, keep it between your board and iron, don't get crazy with applied pressure and let the product work. Have used this brand for the last year with no problems.

It's solder wick and worked perfectly for PCB work, could be priced much lower IMO.

I was having difficulty with some Radio Shack brand wick I had left over from years gone by, and went looking for some good wick to use.All I can say is that the only thing that could make this particular wick better is if it heated itself up! The strands of the Radio Shack stuff were too big, and the braid was too loose. Of course, you need extra flux to use this, or any wick. I knew that going in, and ordered more at the same time as this (also by MG Chemicals).Thank you MG Chemicals for a wonderful wick! I'll order more when I run out.A note to anyone who has difficulty using this. With lead-free solder, or oxidized solder joints, it is extremely difficult to get it to wick with ANY wick. The trick is to apply some flux (highly activated flux works best on oxidized joints) and a dab of leaded solder. Then this wick will mop it right up!

I’d never had any success w/ desoldering braid in the past. As a self taught solderer who works mainly on electronic components of musical instruments, all my other experiences with other products were bad.No more. I was desperately trying stay orient while failing to desolder an IC chip on a Juno 60, stopped, took a deep breath, poked around the Amazon machine, this shows up the next day and I was done shortly thereafter.Easy to use. Works every time you touch it to a pen and solder.

This is a very easy to use desoldering braid. I’ve used it to clean solder on a number of pcb projects. This is a fine braid that is very absorbent.

Great quality desoldering wick. The resin in it works well at removing solder and leaves pads very clean and ready for a new layer of solder. Just wish it wasn't so darn expensive. If you're dealing with something extra tricky, you can always apply extra flux to the solder to help draw it out. But that is almost never necessary.

Works very well on circuit boards - no need to add flux or solder to clean up old and dry connections.
