Q: So what are the alternative options to this bracket?

With a little coaxing and some light sanding to make the barrels fit, I was able to make this work on my OnGuard lock: https://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Transit-FlexFrame-Bracket-Bicycle/dp/B005YPKLLE/. It gets mixed reviews as well, but I've had one on each bike for months now without any issues. My wife rides a mixte (no good places to mount a lock bracket), so she straps her lock to her back rack or puts it in her pannier.

Q: What is the type of plastic the black sections are made of?

It is made of hard plastic but it also broke which was why I needed to exchange it.

Q: Does the mount include the bracket that attaches to the tube?

If I'm reading this correctly, then perhaps the person that asked has the same issue I do. All the parts that come in the package are pictured. However, in order for the lock to actually attach to this clamp, the lock itself must have a clamp spline. That part is not included, and therefore I am not able to use this.

Q: Reviews say what was received isn't what's pictured. Anyone have a link to what was actually received? This is only Onguard specific mount I can find

I ordered two of them. Both look like the one pictured, and both fit the Onguard u-lock I've had for a little over a year.
