New favorite knife
This is one of the cheapest knives I own but it’s also my favorite. It’s got a good weight and cuts very smoothly. It fits in my hand really well and makes cutting crunchy items like onions and other veggies much easier. Out of the box it was really sharp and I haven’t needed to sharpen it yet which is nice. The 10” blade is nice and rocks really well on the cutting board. Hopefully the blade lasts a long time because I really like this one.

the perfect knife for just about everything
I've got to rave about this multi-purpose chef's knife I recently picked up for my kitchen. It's quickly become my go-to tool when I'm cooking up a storm.First off, the value you get for the price is a real steal. If you're looking for a knife that won't break the bank but still delivers the goods, this one's a winner. Now, let's talk about how it performs – it's a beast in the kitchen. Slicing, dicing, chopping, you name it, this knife handles it like a pro. The blade is super sharp and keeps its edge, which means I can tackle all sorts of ingredients without any hassle. From delicate herbs to those stubborn root vegetables, it's up for the challenge. The handle is comfortable to hold, and it's well-balanced, so I can be precise with my cuts. I've been using it for a while now, and it's held up really well.Cleaning it is a breeze, too.In a nutshell, this chef's knife is not just budget-friendly, it's a true workhorse in the kitchen. If you're a home cook looking for a reliable, all-purpose knife that won't let you down, I can't recommend this one enough. It's a kitchen game-changer!

Very good everyday kitchen knife for most uses.
I liked the grip. Reduces slippage. The sharpness is adequate. I prefer a larger knife for most knife jobs. Feels good in my smaller woman’s hand. I would buy again. Very good for cost.

Just as good as the Victorinox, Better Value.
For the money this knife is almost as good as the :ictorinox fibrox. If you need a knife that you will never have to worry about this is it, the pickup truck of knives. the fibrox handle has no bumps on it, though if anything the Mercer habdle encourages a proper grip even more.the only real difference between these knives is the grind. the Victorinox has a beautiful convex grind that never wedges and is quite thin behind the edge. The Mercer is hollow ground, like virtually every house knife in any professional kitchen. It probably will wedge in cuts faster than the Swiss knife, but it is perfectly serviceable. If you are a home cook and will have only one knife, and plan never to sharpen it, maybe but a MAC. If you know that German steel needs honing and how to do it, the Mercer lines are the best value for good steel in good ergonomics with great performance and the right package for commercial use. This knife is a great value and will take a new edge if the hollow grounding is not suitable for you.Bottom line, there is no functional difference between this and the Victorinox in my opinion. the value is why culinary schools use these. For the price of one fibrox, you could buy four of these knives, or a good honing steel, bread knife and serrated knife to round out a set. I have bought more to give as gifts. This is the pickup truck of knives, and perfect for anything that would make you hesistate to use a brittle Japanese knife.

Large, sharp, Great for large hands
I liked the 10" chef knife's use for chopping whole cabbage heads into thin ribbons for cole slaw, stirfry veg prep, and meat morsel prep. The hand, finger and pinch indent and balance works will in my large hands and has a nice rocking motion. It arrived sharp and has stayed sharp with light touches on a steel. I store it on a magnetic bar, otherwise it'd be awkwardly big in the drawer. Hand wash after every use leaves a clean, shiny surface. Others in the house don't care for it as it's too big for them, instead preferring 7-8" blades.Inexpensive and good quality, this blade is great to have even if it's just for one cook.

Amazing budget-friendly knife. Very sharp!
Finally ordered a new knife for my college apartment after dealing with an old dull knife. Came razor sharp and cut very easily. Dulled fairly quickly but a quick sharpening got it back to its frighteningly sharp state! My roommates are very scared of me and my 10 inch chef's knife. They are jealous of my ability to easily cut onions.
