does what it is intended to do. Cheaply made but gets the job done.

These are perfect for why I wanted them -- ease of connections -- but I didn't think about two other significant aspects: short circuit risk and strain on wires. (1) There is obviously no strain relief in this design so these are not very well suited for a connection that will move around. At least with thin wires, they will tend to bend at a right angle at the terminals. And of course we all know what happens when you bend metal over and over again. (2) It is easy to have some bare wire peeking out when you connect the wire to these but the terminals are so close together that this is a very significant short circuit risk. So make sure you only strip exactly what you need to get into the screw terminals so the wires are still insulated coming out of them.

The connectors looked like a great idea with the screw down wire terminals which would allow a bigger gauge wire to be used with the 2.1 x 5.5 mm plug. Unfortunately the quality of the clamp and the plug is not very good. I connected using 18 gauge copper zip cord and the screw terminals would not consistently grab the bare wire tightly enough to hold as well as a soldered joint. When tightened down as much as reasonable for the screw size the wire could still be pulled out of one or both terminals. Part of this is due to the design, the clamping surface is very small and smooth and the short design of the plug places the strain too close to the clamp. If a person plans to use these for a purpose where there is zero pull or movement and then covers wire and connector with a continuous piece of heat shrink tubing they may work OK. If you anticipate any pull or movement of the wire it would be best to solder the wire in as well or rather use a solder-type plug with built in strain relief device. I'm going back to using the soldered type fitting.

I installed security cameras at a remote building, powering them up with a solar-charged 12 volt battery bank. The inverter I was using was extremely loud and I found it annoying. Using these connectors, I was able to remove the need for the transformer and connected the cameras directly to the 12 volt power source. Easy to install and work just great!!

These are really handy. I am a DIY'er/tweaker and I got these to make my own custom DC cables. I use a fairly thick star quad cable and finding solder barrel jack are almost impossible that will handle this thick gauge of wire. These screw terminals handle that gauge with ease and tighten down tight enough that I am not worried about the wire falling out. With these I can make a DC cable in under 15 minutes. Finish with a bit of shrink tubing and the cable looks really good. Excellent product!!

I do a lot of work with solar panels and 12 volt systems like LEDs and cameras in my work and these are quick and easy to use solderless connectors for most common 12V systems. I will purchase more of these when I run low for sure.

I bought this to attach to a solar panel charging cable and connect to a small 100w portable charging station and it worked like a char!. Glad to have companies out there making products for the DIY family!

This product is used to provide terminals for DC power connections. It's usually used in CCTV camera work. I'm using them to provide power for active metering.
