Surpassed expectations. Give it a try!
So being able to read at night, or during long car rides in the dark, or even on a plan without disturbing anyone was really important to me.Things I was looking for in a booklight was for it to be lightweight, small, and aesthetically good looking. This particular booklight had all of these things. What I end up doing with my books is clipping the entire thing to the last few pages of my book, and hanging it on the outside, so that I don't have to hold my book awkwardly while trying to read. (I've seen some people put the booklight between pages, or even on the page they are currently reading, and that's just weird to me.) Then I just swing the relatively flexible arm over the pages, and read peacefully.I'd like to mention that I was pleasantly surprised with the wide angle and the brightness of the light. I was at once worried that it may not be able to illuminate my larger textbooks, but once again: serendipity. Some people may find it difficult to clip this kind of thing to their book for a number of reasons, and so another thing I do sometimes is clip this to my shirt pocket or my jacket, adjust the light arm, (and without moving too much) read comfortably from there.Last but not least, this was definitely one of the cheaper and cost-effective solutions for me.Mind you, it is not the sturdiest thing, and given a fall, it may break (not that this has happened to me). But in the regular line of duty, this device performs great. All in all, very happy with my purchase.Cheers,FG

Updated on 11/11/17 my "What a Great Book Light and I've Owned More than my Share!"
Bought two just because all the other lights I've owned never seemed to fully illuminate 2 pages no matter how close to the spine I clipped the light or my bending the light's neck from left to right. Granted, I've only used this light a couple of times, but my current read is sufficiently illuminated with just one.Purple color is very nice, neck is very bendy, light is bright, no noticeable page hot spots, AND it arrives with the batteries installed. One suggestion? It would be nice if there were two brightness settings. Other than that? I'm really impressed with this book light.Nov 11: Well, my Purple Mighty Brite XtraFlex2 ihas been shipped. Sad to say the Mighty Bright PocketFlex Book Light just isn't for me. Oh, the light was very nice at first but soon reached half life. Of course, since the batteries cannot be replaced or the unit recharged, I now feel like I'm reading by candle light. It's back to the XtraFlex2 for me and this time I'll make sure not to lose.

Easy, compact and bright
Not a huge fan to my wife's reading habits at night but her old one of these burnt out and I thought it was a sign from heaven that I could finally go to be without a UFO spot light lighting up the whole house. In all seriousness though, it's an amazing product it's not bright enough to disturb someone from sleeping or cause sudden blindness when flashed in the eyes. It's light weight, compact and gets the job done without being in the way. The adjustable neck makes it so those hard to read spine areas can finally see the light of day or if you don't want to use it to read a book but rather a flashlight for looking under the bed, it's a great feature. We have tried a couple options and every time my wife goes right back to this sun beam goddess. Tip for those that want to sleep while your significant other is reading: roll over.

Very Functional Booklight
I have purchased two of these book lights: the first, for myself, and the second as a business gift. Like all products from the Mighty Bright Company, this is a sturdy, compact, "mighty bright" light. However, what makes this model so special is its wonderfully FLAT design. Dimensionally, about the size of a credit card and less than 1/2 inch "thick," this is the perfect book light where space is a concern [e.g. for the business traveler]. There is only one switch, off-on. The light emitted is bright enough for reading in bed without disturbing a partner. But the truly unique feature is the goose neck. The neck holding the actual light bulb itself is on an umbilical which, when in extended or in-use position, coils around the periphery of the battery/switch housing. The light has a sturdy clip which affixes the unit to almost anything up to 1/2 inch in height. If you need a unique purpose ]reading in bed type] light, do examine the PocketFlex seriously.

VERY bright; perfect for the Kindle
I've tried five or six lights for my Kindle. I have another I love but this is brighter. Easily clips to my Kindle case and the light arm stays put. Others I have tried sway a bit or lose the ability to stay firm yet bend. They flop! The only issue is I didn't see instructions on battery changes. I see a tiny black switch but if I push it up, nothing opens. Right now the light is dim but I can't change battery. (I have the RayOVac as a backup, fortunately). I threw away the box so can't check if instructions were perhaps printed inside the box on the box. No paper of instructions was in the box :( (I did eMail Customer Service to ask them to open a package and look for what I need).

Mighty Bright is mighty and bright!
I have used the light for about 1 month. It easily focuses where needed. The light is sufficient for lighting both pages of an average size book or can be focused on a particular area and easily moved as needed. It coils into its holder and becomes a compact item easily taken with you. I have not found a way to change a battery or the light bulb so I suppose when it quits burning, it will be time to get another one. Other book lights I have used have been more cumbersome than the Mighty Bright.

Wish I had bought another style
This seemed like the perfect little light to go with my Kindle. There is more than enough light, it is compact and folds up very small but it doesn't stay clipped to the Kindle very well. I also bought the Adapter that Amazon suggested with the light....imagine my total surprise when I found out - there's no place to plug the adapter in on the light! I wasted money and will have to return it. Size is perfect and works well with books but, not ideal for the Kindle and DON'T BUY THE suggested AC Adapter - there's no where to plug it in!

Definitely Recommend
I bought this 5 years ago (and realised I never left a review) and would definitely recommend it, I love that it folds up neatly when not being used and is very bright, works really well and batteries are easily replaced.

Compact and Durable Book Light
I really like the Mighty Bright range. I've had several items and they've always been good quality. This is no exception. Nice and compact when not in use. When using, it's nice and bright but not so bright as to disturb my sleeping husband. I like the adjustability of it. I can put the light exactly where I need it. It's durable and compact. My complaints are 1) the battery life seemed a bit short, but to be fair, the batteries aren't expensive. And 2) when you're getting to the end of a paperback, the weight of the light will bend back the cover. It's hard to find a spot to place it where that won't happen. But, it's a good light so I'm willing to work with its limitations. Recommended.
