📸 Capture the Moment, Not the Glare!
The JJC LH-73C Lens Hood Shade is designed specifically for the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens, effectively preventing unwanted stray light and lens flare with its non-glare matte finish. It offers extra protection against accidental impacts and serves as a reliable replacement for the Canon EW-73C, ensuring compatibility and ease of use for photographers on the go.

Another good and cheaper alternative to the original Canon hood.
Decided on getting this hood for my lens because at $15, it's cheaper than the Canon at $27.It doesn't seem to do a whole lot for reducing flare, but as an ultra-wide lens I didn't have many problems with flare anyway. This was mainly for some extra protection in case I bump the front of the lens against something. Some people didn't want to wait and modified the EW-73B hood and equivalent hoods by shaving down the side petals since it also fits on the lens. I was considering doing this too, but when I saw that this was now available, I just went with it, as it saves me the trouble of modifying a lens hood to make it work. If you have to buy another EW-73B or equivalent to modify, you might as well just buy this one and save some time and trouble.Anyway, on to the impressions of this hood. It is a clone of the original and more expensive Canon EW-73C. This is my second JJC lens hood, and I have to say that for clone hoods, they are probably one of the better brands. The plastic feels sturdier than some of the other clones out there. The fit on my lens was a tiny bit tighter than when I put my EW73-B hood on to try. At first it seems a bit hard to put on/remove but it seems to have gotten better after several tries. Like my previous JJC hood (LH-72), the red paint on the hood (that marks where to line up the hood to the lens), is kind of dark so it may be difficult for some to see. The red mark on the lens itself is bright red and very easy to see. Not a big deal though.Overall I'm happy with it for the money I saved.

Works
This is a simple product but it does what it's supposed to. It twists on to the Canon 18-55 EF lens and it stays snuggly there, providing protection from knocks and bumps to the lens while also providing shade to reduce lens flares.Over the years, Canon has made different versions of the 18-55. Some have a front element that rotates, so that the lens hoods rotates with the front element, making this notched version inappropriate. Later models of the lens don't have this problem, so do some testing or research on your lens to make sure this hood is appropriate for you.

Reasonably price replacement.
On my good Canon glass, I buy the Canon hood, just gives me that feel good feeling.I bought this for my 10-18 since the cost of the genuine Canon hood is too high for the cost of the lens.Fits good and has a nice snug fit that I like.Much better deal than Canon's original. As for the rating, my Canon hoods and some of the other knockoffs (Velo I think) I own have that black velvet type liner on the inside surface. This one does not have that velvet type liner, so that's why I am docking it.If someone can tell me that the original Canon hood does not have this liner, I will gladly adjust my review rating. It has a good snug fit on the lens though, will have to see how it holds up with the constant removing and flipping over for storage like my Canon and Velo hoods. One other thing is the packing box for the hood was damaged. The shipping box was in perfect condition, so I don't know if that means I got a return, or it was badly handled at the time of shipping.I'm not really dinging it for that though.

Great Lens Hood!
This Lens hood for my Canon 10-18mm wide angle zoom lens works perfect, great quality and build. Super sturdy and strong.. feels well made.. and it's half the price of the real Canon OEM lens hood.Shipped from China, It arrived to my door step here in Hawaii in a quickness!!Bought from Amazon and shipped & sold by JW photography accessory. This lens hood goes directly in front of the 10-18mm lens, it twists on the front of the lens at a half turn.. and comes off the same way.. Again works like it should.. goes on and comes off easily.. it does not hurt the lens at all.Get this Lens Hood which is a direct replica of the Canon OEM one, at half the price!!This is on my Canon 60D on the Canon 10-18mm wide angle zoom lens

Great hood
I recently purchased the 10-18mm and needed a hood for it. After looking at the official Canon one, I was kind of surprised by the price. I found this one and could not be happier; works as expected. I also like that I can flip the hood around when not using/storing the camera. Great for the price.

Not quite an OEM hood, but close.
Decent. Plastic not quite as thick as an OEM hood, but close. Does click into place like the OEM hood and will store in reverse for storing the lens. Rating 4 only because the plastic is just a tad less thick that it could be (as an OEM hood for example), but more than adequate. It was less that half the cost of the OEM hood, so I'm happy.

Great deal!
This fits my 10-18mm lens perfectly, and at 1/2 the cost of the canon equivalent. I have a screw in tulip hood for another 58mm lens, but it is too big, I lost the edges when fully out to 18mm. This hood is perfect, even at maximum zoom.

GREAT value!!!
This hood fit perfectly on my Canon EFS 10-18mm ultra-wide lens. It is not a hood that screws into the micro threads like a lens accessory would, but instead goes over the lens in a simple 1-twist motion then locks into place. Reversible as advertised for storage. For less than 1/2 the cost of the cannon version this is absolutely the way to go!

I have not been disappointed, the lens hood is superb
This is the second JJC product I have bought for a Canon camera/lens. I bought the lens hood because I was so very impressed with the adaptor previously purchased. I have not been disappointed, the lens hood is superb. I know it is just a 'bit of plastic' but it is a well made, and finished 'bit of plastic' that fits the lens perfectly and does the same job as the much, much more expensive Canon accessory. I will continue to buy JJC products when they offer an alternative, after all you know you are not getting a 'fake'.

Good value for money compared to the official Canon one
Good value for money compared to the official Canon one. It's a bit fiddly to put on the lens at first, but persevere and it will be OK

Disappointing
The fit was poor - too tight and so likely to break. Disappointing as a previous hood from JJC was ok.
