A lovely thick heavy glass which I gave along with a bottle of Japanese whiskey as a gift for my husband. Having read the reviews I was aware that the Japanese scroll type of paper with Japanese writing on would come off when wet. This seemed to be the case as it was glued down but is thick paper therefore would absorb water. Having told my husband this he decided to do something about it as it finishes the look of the glass off. He applied 3 coats of modelling varnish that he uses for model cars, letting it dry between coats. It now looks as thought the sticker is part of the glass. It can be lightly washed and doesn't get wet. The photos shown are of the glass after the varnish had been applied.

External surface is very rough and you can clearly see the seams from the moulding process. I thought the label was permanent, not stuck on.

The glass is absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend loved it and it is now his favourite glass. I was abit worried it would by flimsy, but it is relatively sturdy. Really different look from the usual whiskey glasses.

The glass is poor quality it looks like something you would get free with a gallon of petrol and the Japanese engraving is a paper sticker- very disappointed
