Salems Lot:the Movie VHS

Dang, this is a creepy, masterfully-made movie! I hadn't seen it in years, then realized how much I wanted to view it again.Things get ominous very quickly, but the ratcheting of tension is slow enough to be satisfying (thanks in large part to James Mason's excellent performance). The vampire is ruthless in his savagery -- isn't a handsome romantic, doesn't brood or sparkle or even speak -- and resembles Max Schreck in "Nosferatu" (1922), although he's far uglier and more terrifying. Yet, this isn't a gore fest like "30 Days of Night." Perfect!This is one of the best adaptations of a Stephen King novel I've ever seen. I only wish the movie contained all the details and nuances of the miniseries from which it was condensed.

A LITTLE BIT DISAPPOINTED IN THE VERSION OF SALEMS LOT BEING A REMAKE. THEY REALLY SHOULD HAVE SPECIFIED THAT IN AD. But I'm pretty much followed story line. Please excuse "caps" , need new RX & glasses. Jozy~

this is a great movie. i saw this move back in the day when it first came out. i was happy to find this tape, and was thrilled when i was able to burn this vhs tape to a dvd. this horror flick is a true classic. they don't make scary movies like this anymore.

I absolutely loved this movie. I desperately wanted a copy. The DVD price is very high so I thought I could go with the VHS. Purchased it, received it (so excited), played it and THEN realized that they cut about an hour off of this brilliant movie. So it you want the shortened version get it, but it's just spoiled for me.

the transaction was worry-free and the product arrived in the stated condition and very quickly. I was hoping for a better price, but it's an old movie and you can't even find DVD versions. Overall great buying experience.

This ranks up there with Creepshow as one of my most viewed King films... The vampires in this look genuine because the makeup jobs are done really well. The acting is good and the story doesn't get sidetracked very often, it stays fairly intense.

I loved this book! The movie? ...It's okay. I can say I was quite happy to find the movie here on Amazon because it has been a difficult film to find, for me. READ THE BOOK!it may be KING'S best work, along with the Shining of course!

The movie is great. I wanted this movie for my collection. However I would not recommend VHS it was very grainy, not clear. I got the VHS because I did not want to pay the steep price for the DVD.
