How do I remove the heavy duty chair tilt control mechanism from the gas lift cylinder, ?

When I bought this new piece, I couldn’t get my old gas cylinder to come off of my old part, so I ended up having to purchase a cylinder for this new replacement part. They should come loose with a twist but mine wouldn’t.

How long is the gas bar lifting control arm? I need it to be at least 12 inches.

the arm of the sgs is approximately 7.5 inches long.

How far does this make the chair till back?

Don't have an angle to give you. It leans back about as far as it can without feeling at all like you're going to fall backwards.
