Getting a buzzing sound, almost like the buzz from florescent lighting. Has anyone else run into that? How do I resolve it?

These bulbs work great *if* used with a regular On/Off Switch. Using a dimmer that's rated for LED will NOT solve the buzzing sound. You may reduce the buzzing somewhat, but you're still going to hear it.. (Depending on your hearing and ambient room noise). I've run these bulbs with Lutron Maestro, C.L and Caseta Digital Dimmers rated for CFL/LED and incand... They still buzz. (yes even at "FULL" Power; which btw.... seems to cut some voltage (and therefore brightness) even on the "high" setting. Some of the Philips BR30 Bulbs seem to have solved the buzzing problem... (e.g. Model 9290011749 9watt 2700k BR30... (I've run the Philips bulbs with my Lutron switches and they work)... I'm keeping some Sunco BR30 Bulbs for use with regular On/Off switches, 11watt 850L vs. 9watt 650L for the Philips. Bottom Line.. Only use dimmers with LED bulbs where you really need a dimmer. Then run compatible dimmer for LED AND Philips or equal bulbs... BTW... in Lutron's LED Bulb compatibility chart, it indicates that just because a bulb and a switch are "compatible" and "dimmable" does NOT mean they are "buzz free"... :-( YMMV.

How many inches across is the 'flood' widest part? what is the difference between 'warm' white and 'soft' white? thanks.

I believe it's 3.74 inches. The difference between warm white and soft white is that warm white is 3000k (a bit less yellowish) than soft white which is either 2200 or 2700k. So if you don't want the yellowish light and don't want bright white (a.k.a daylight) get the warm white.

Has anyone used this bulbs outdoors?

When I purchased these bulbs the title said they were for indoor/outdoor use. I purchased them to be used in my outside recessed lighting. These bulbs have lasted for over four years. I live in Nebraska and our temperatures range from -20 to 100+. These lights are on all night long; anywhere from 9-12 hours a night depending on the time of year. So, in the winter, they are on longer at night. We run them every day. They are turned on automatically by a smart switch.

Do these lights need to warm up to reach full brightness or are these turn on a they are at full brightness?
