What does the "short" mean exactly?

Were these meant to not be hemmed before purchasing?!?!

"Tall" pants are often NOT hemmed when sold. It is a cost saving measure and allows the purchaser to make a more custom fit. I'm wearing mine right now and have yet to hem them. No one has complained, or even commented.

My size is 34 x 30, whats the difference between "medium" vs "medium short"? i would prefer a slim size type of pants, than baggy ones.
