Q: Is this the same English Leather formula from 40 years ago or is this the knock off that has been around for at least a decade or two?

Yes it is, I have been using this Cologne from the tender age of 14 years old. I loved that it has not changed at all over the years, as I am 60+ today! I still order it on line. Hope it was helpful.
