Does the ring move up and down to put the towels through?

Yes, it has to. The installation video shows the installer moving the ring up and down to get an Allen Wrench into and tighten the mounting set screw in the base.

How far out from the wall does this extend?

Is there a way to stabilize the ring so it doesn't bang the wall?

If the ring is hitting the wall with a towel installed, our Product Consultants are available via our Helpline for technical and pre-purchase assistance. Moen can also be contacted by email.

I put the screw through the plastic brackets, then screwed into door now the base of ring wont fit over plastic brackets?????????

Look for the small set screw that when loosened a bit allows the rack to fit over the bracket. Once the rack is in place on the bracket, tighten up the set screw again.
