A good investment for happy holiday hair :)
I’d given up on GHDs a few years ago after my beloved originals finally died and the newer replacement model didn’t even last 24 months. So I was in no way clouded by previous experience - if anything, I was setting out a bit cynically. I’ve waited two months before reviewing these so it’s an accurate round-up, rather than the initial excitement we all have when buying a big ticket item and wanting to love it! These are expensive and I wanted to make sure my review was accurate and fair.I wanted decent straighteners for when I’m travelling for work or on hols. I tried cheap ones (terrible, they actually snagged my hair) as well as pricey options, including Cloud Nine. In the end these won out because of the smooth results, the USB-C charging (saving space/weight on my travels), the relatively decent charging time and how long one charge lasts me. Plus I was patient and then lucky to get them for just over £200.I’ve seen other reviews here and elsewhere saying they don’t last longer than 15-20 minutes and only one use. Not for me - I have thick hair sitting well below my shoulders and I get at least 30 minutes on a single full charge. That gives me two sessions of using them on my entire head of hair. Yes, I’ve timed it so this review would be accurate ;)But! I’m realistic with what I think these GHDs will achieve - they’re not for performing miracles from scratch and nor do they claim to be. They’re designed for ‘touch ups on the go’, but I get a lot more than that out of them by using them efficiently and setting my hair up for good results. When I’m away travelling, I use a really nourishing shampoo and conditioner, work through a pea-size amount of decent serum for coarse hair while it’s damp, then gently finger blow dry from towel-dried using a really good heat protector spray, which I wouldn’t do at home (where I always let it air dry). Then I divide my hair into two-inch sections BEFORE turning them on to heat up, to save wasting the battery. Then I use these to create the smoothness I’m after. I’ve never needed to go over my hair twice and don’t do this at home anyway, to protect my hair. So, a lot of the good results I’m getting comes down to the prep, using decent hydrating products and working with the straighteners rather than expecting miracles and then feeling let down. One thing to mention is that at home I use my (non-GHD) straighteners to smooth my hair and curl my ends - these aren’t so good at curling but neither were my most recent replacement plugged GHDs that died early. Again, they don’t claim to be curling irons! So when I’m away on hols I use them as straighteners, then twist + tie my hair up while doing my makeup and also overnight, to create some loose tousled waves. No biggie, not a deal breaker, and the natural effect is absolutely fine.Would I have paid the current £299? Absolutely not. But I kept an eye out for flash sales and price matches, and I’m so glad I did. I’m really pleased with them.Oh and if you get these, be sure to see the GHD advice box further down on the product page, which explains how to maximise the battery and get the best use out of it. I did that from the start and will continue to look after them - they’re too much of an investment for me not to.Here’s to happy travels and lovely hair on the go! X

Great grab and go travel tool
Great travel accessory. I have shoulder length hair and get two - three styles out of one charge. Great for waves and curls. Highly recommend as a grab and go travel tool

Not for long hair!!
I have long thick hair I found that my hair felt ‘thick’ after straightening compared to my old other branded ones which left my hair sleek and thinner rather than the thickness I normally have with my hair. I’m disappointed as I felt they did nothing and the temperature was warm not hot. Would not advise for long or thick hair. I fully charged to five bars which took around two hours. After use it went down to two bars so if I used again I’d have to recharge each time. It’s a no from me.

Worth the investment
Great cordless straighteners useful for travelling and on the go. Do a good job at touch ups. I originally bought a cheaper brand on Amazon thinking that they’d do, plus they got supposedly hotter than these but they lasted 31 days before giving up. I should have just bought these first as they do a much better job. Neat little travel case too.

It’s very compact and perfect for traveling.Doesn’t hold a long charge though so need to charge pretty much after every use

Slickiest of all
The battery discharges quite quicky, but this is the slickest straightener of all.

Great Price - good product
Bought these for the wife. Honestly the price can’t be bettered for starters. Charge up with the supplied USB charger and wait for the five white lights to become continuous and it’s ready to use - probably takes 1-2 hours to charge. Then turn on and wait for the beep and it’s ready. Seems to get really hot quickly. Can’t say how well they work as yet since I am a man with little hair but fingers crossed. Sure she will love these and they are quality like all GHD kit.

Needs charging after every 10 minutes use.
I chose GHD’s as I’ve used their corded straighteners for many years and been very happy with them. However the cordless version is very disappointing. It says it will give about 20 minutes of use in the manual but I’m only getting half that. For the money I am very disappointed with the results.
