Sulcatas: African Spurred Tortoises in Captivity (Professional Breeders Series)

This book has been very informative. It was recommended by a breeder when we purchased our sulcata tortoise. Everything we needed to know, we found in this book.

I got one of these tortoise at a snake and reptile show. Didn't know when I got it what breed it was and how to care for it. What became immediately clear was that it WAS NOT the simple box tortoise I was used to as a kid that roamed around outside. These tortoises cost a lot to maintain. They don't eat just anything! And their creature comforts have to be attended to frequently (hourly). This book helped tremendously.

Great book for buying a sulcata at a pet shop not knowing much about their background and becoming quickly well educated as it covers literally everything you can think of! Must read if you're buying or even if you already have a sulcata

I got tired of reading tortoise forums will the abundance of conflicting information out there. This book has just about everything you'll need to know for all the life stages of a sulcata. It would have earned 5 stars if it went in depth just a little more in a few aspects such as describing growth rates in a little more in detail, but I'm happy to have this book would buy again if I lost it.

Although I have read many articles on Sulcatas, this book gave me a lot of new and useful information on how to care for my tortoises.
