Flame burns nicely!
I bought this as well as a 3 pack of cheaper wicks and brass wick holders. At first glance, I actually didn’t like the Firefly wick holders as much because they didn’t have any kind of material on them to help hold them in the bottle. Basically, it you knock down your bottle, the wick holder would pop out and you’d have a problem. But I used this product and that other brand at the beginning and they seemed comparable. After months of non-use (winter, moving, Covid), which meant all the wicks had tons of times to soak up lamp oil, those other brass wick holders burned with such a low flame, no matter how low or high I adjusted the wicks, that it was pointless to have them lit. My firefly wick burned beautifully though. So much so that I decided to order 3 more to replace the 3 pack of that other brand I bought. I used the same wick from the other brand, but replaced the holder. It burned so much better and brighter than before. I highly recommend these wicks/wick holders. Just be careful where you place your bottles so you or your pet or your kids won’t knock them over and create a huge problem.

Works very well with wine bottle tiki torches
So, these wicks actually make a pretty significant difference with DIY tiki torches. I made four torches out of some empty vodka bottles, and the first bunch of fiberglass wicks I used would only hold a nice flame if the bottles were almost completely topped off with fuel. Once the fuel level got down below the top of the bottle by an inch or so, the wicking action started failing and the flame would die out. I replaced them all with these wicks from Firefly after reading some reviews, and I am happy to report they make a substantial difference. I don’t know if it’s a function of the wicks being longer or something about the way they’re manufactured which yields better capillary action, but either way, these wicks hold a much nicer flame than the “standard” 12-inch wicks. I’m sitting on my pool deck watching my half empty tiki torches continuing to burn strong. Based on the quality of these wicks I’m going to try out some of Firefly’s other products as well.

Perfect wick and flame
I tried 3 other brands before I found one that would fit my bottle and have the right size flame.

Fits wine bottle perfectly
Look no more for the perfect wine bottle lantern wick insert. Seriously! From the wick length and width to the stopper this fits perfect. I tried another from Hobby Lobbby that had a ceramic top with glass insert tohold the wick, it broke and the wick was wimpy. This is exactly what you need for the best wine bottle lantern

Solid wick holder
I bought the wick for a homemade tiki torch, and it worked well.. the wick just sits in the neck of the bottle and seems secure. The metal wick is durable and the wick part burns well if you put it at the lowest point on the wick holder. Too much wick and the flame burns huge.

great wick
This works good but you must get a real lamp oil. I was hoping this would work with cooking oil but it won't. You need your wick right above the oil in cooking oil. However ti fit right into a wine bottle i got from the everything a dollar store. Work's great with tiki torch fluid outdoor's.
