You can improve perfection.
I'm going to give 5 stars, just because it is lightweight, beautifully put together. The pants are a hybrid of Hyabusas comfort and lightweight mixed with Venums fit, flexibility/mobility and durability.Critical review time.Ditch the plastic bag it comes in.This isn't a cheap dojo student Gi. This is a wonderful Kimono, don't let it smell like baked plastic.Regardless the smell washes out initially, but was a kick in the nose right out of the bag.I'd settle for a cheap cloth bag any day.Second gripe. This defect will go away in time but will agitate until it does. The stitched sleeve tape.Just around the bottom of the sleeve its an ultra scratchy "singed fabric" feeling-it seems like it's gently sawing my hands off.Last criticism. The tag on the inside sewn on the rash guard (sits on the spine). You have a gorgeously comfortable feeling rash guard, but a tag sewn on it. It's just not needed. All in all, 5 stars, all day long. Very comfortable. Very beautiful. I would buy this again without hesitation.

Comfortable, breathable, beautiful
I absolutely love this gi! At first I was hesitating because of the high price tag, but I went for it and I don’t regret it. I’ve had the blue gi for about a year and a half and it still looks great with no fading, loose stitching, or tears and hasn’t developed any scent - a true testament to its quality. The sleeve stitching has been the only issue I’ve had. I agree with another reviewer that the sleeve stitching is very itchy at first. I used to only wear long sleeve rash guards underneath to keep it from irritating my wrists.Ive gotten so many compliments because of the embroidery and lining. I wasn’t sure how the lining would hold up but it’s still in perfect condition. I also sweat a ton but never feel overheated or weighed down. It’s a slimmer fit then other brands I have so that’s something to keep in mind. Bottom line is that I love this gi and while it is pricy, I will absolutely purchase another shogun gi.

A4’s be cautious.
I purchased two of these. One in black, it was an A2, that one is five stars, fits him perfect. The blue A4 was for me and the pants came fitting like an A5. The jacket fits like an A3. I’m 6’3” and 225lbs. Fairly athletic build. I can deal with one or the other, but for the price, I would have expected both to fit properly. This is the only gi I’ve had an issue with (I have Hayabusa and Gameness as well and both A4s fit perfect, especially the pants) and the reason for the purchase was to get a high quality gi with a built in rashguard. The inner rashguard is nice on the jacket and the artwork is top notch, the only reason for the two star is the fact the A4 fit is so way way off and the price suggests that it would be on point every time. If the A4 fit like the A2 I purchased for another, I would have given it 5 stars.

Good Gi
I am 5ft 9 and 150lbs.Size:It is slightly smaller than my other A1 Gi (that I was given upon joining my club). When I first tried it on, the sleeves and pants were shorter than I was accustomed to. The cut under the armpit was also tighter. I was a little worried, but I figured the best test was actually training with it.After sparring for 2 hours and another 1.5 hour training session:The gi feels great to wear! The rashguard does not make the gi feel hot, and is super smooth and comfy. My training partners haven't called me out on wearing a cheater gi and I don't any notice tightness, it just feels form fitting and comfy. Sturdy and thick too.Style:The rashguard is a nice work of art, but the purple trim and purple tigers look sick against the black. I've recieved multiple comments on the gi.There are some random loose strings, but everything seems durable. Would buy again so far!
