What on Earth! Of course, it’s a Cell Phone Clamp
Here’s one of those gadgets you buy for the photographer who has everything. It’s practical if you shoot cell phone movies, impractical if you shoot vertical stills unless you have a camera ball head. If you shoot movies vertically, stop reading here. Anyway, it will rotate to vertical if there is enough clearance to do so. In my case, no. I attached it to a old Lumedyne threaded stick I had lying around, but that combo didn’t allow a vertical swing. I’m sure it can work a vertical on a mini table top tripod like Manfrotto makes with the supplied ball head. I like the manual clamp on this model as it holds firmly without slippage.

UPDATED: Ok this is a cheap plastic unit but....
12/14/2017 EDIT: The manufacturer proactively contacted me and resolved the situation. They were very responsive and seemed to genuinely want to make it right. I upped the rating to 3 star based on this with the hope that my original unit was an anomaly. The comments below still stand on the original product but he company response was very positive.Original Review:Ok this is a cheap plastic unit, but that's understood, expected, not a surprise, and not an issue. It is what the manufacturer described. What is an issue is the screw mount that holds the phone clamp in place. When you tighten it, rather than encountering resistance, it instead pushes the knob off the pin it's attached to, leaving the clamp unsecured, thus the phone unsecured. The knob is only held on by VERY light friction. I've decided I won't trust a phone on this. Is the specific unit I got defective? Maybe, but how would I know that? I'm reporting my experience and not trying a second one.

Good little gadget.
Going to use the with my HTC U11 in a case. I am just a little concerned that where it clamps onto the phone is either in the way of the power button or the Edge Sense squeeze area. So far I think I can work with it, just have to be careful where and how much I tighten the clamps.I also put my wife's iPhone 7 plus on it and it seems to work with that no issues.

One was perfect. The other was missing the threaded brass insert...UPDATED
Bought two of these. One was perfect. The other was missing the threaded brass insert.UPDATE: changing initial rating from 2 to 5 stars...the Seller read that my initial order was missing a brass insert and sent a new unit to me free of charge. I thought that was excellent customer service, since I hadn't even ask for a refund or return. Also, after having used these for several weeks, I highly recommend them. I like how these have two thread points so they can be ganged together and also how they spin 360 degrees. They're extremely functional.

Pretty good after minor adjustment/fix
This cell phone holder is great, although out of the box the nub that adjusts the grip came off and I had to glue it with crazy glue (hence no 5 stars). After gluing it, the holder is working like a charm and it is very sturdy.

It was a spring loaded clip mechanism that was somewhat annoying to use
Previously I had bought a cheaper version of this on Amazon that worked okay. It was a spring loaded clip mechanism that was somewhat annoying to use. It was also cheaply designed and broke after a few months.I saw this for 2 bucks more and liked that it was not spring loaded but used a vice-like grip. Have been using it for a few weeks and this is exactly what I needed. Holds my Samsung Galaxy S7 with no problems nice and steady.

Works like a charm
This thing works great. Want to greatly improve your cell phone pictures of still objects? Mount one of these on a tripod and get yourself a bluetooth remote shutter switch. I always though my pictures were good, until I tried this. It's amazing how a tiny movement holding your camera in your hands will effect how clear the photo is.Landscape or Portrait. This thing works really good.
