Very much worth the price, almost cordless, a few things to consider....
I purchased this so that I could sit and do hand-stitching and darning on antique/vintage clothing and textiles in the evenings after my usual workday. I also knit. I decided that I would only purchase one to see if it would be appropriate for multiple places in the Studio...and if I loved it, I would purchase another. Here's what I think about this:1) PRO: It is wonderful in that it holds a charge for at least 4 hours, likely a bit more from what I can tell. When the battery power runs out, you can plug it in and it turns on immediately. Nice feature while it charges back up again.2) JUST OKAY: The glass in the magnifier is very good...not absolutely perfect...but only the pickiest people will notice this. I have used it for many hours already and it allows me to watch over my darning without much eye strain. I tend to work for several hours at a time at night.3) CON: The glass size...the size of the magnifying light is really a bit too small for my taste. I can actually use this successfully, but it would be so much nicer to either make the neck longer or the actual lamp/magnifier larger. It is **so close** to being perfect! But, not quite there for me...yet...for the price...yes, I can fiddle with it to make it work. For the price, again, this lamp is a favorite of mine, but just so close to being exactly what I want...not quite there. There's a small area on the magnifier where you can look at something through a larger magnification...this is about the size of a quarter...and not big enough to be of any benefit for what I use it for.4) JUST OKAY: My favorite place to sit while using this is in an antique wing-back chair. The lamp has a good height, but the neck is a tad short. I have to fiddle with it more than I like because the neck won't stretch all the way over the arm of the chair and on over my lap...but if I work at this, I can still work but it isn't quite as comfortable as I would really like it to be. My second favorite place to work is a low 1920s couch. It works nicely there because the seat is low and no chair arms to navigate.5) PRO: The most wonderful part is that it is really weighed down so that it doesn't fall over. The light is wireless, and so you can fiddle with the overall lamp to get it located just close enough to you without it collapsing into your lap.6) CON: I really love the fact that the lamp is cordless and chargeable. However, the cord hooks in at the base so that it is difficult to find the place where to plug it in. I actually picked up the lamp and nearly wiped out a table full of antique glass with the long neck while trying to find just how and where to plug it in!7) PRO: The LED light is good...there's multiple settings for bright through dim...for needlework, I do not need this. Of course, the light has no heat at all so you won't get toasty while working even in the heat of summer.FINAL THOUGHT: I am going to spend twice as much and buy a second lamp for the other area where I'm working. The other lamp is not offered on Amazon but on an art supply store...and is pricy...but will be the best for the type of work that I'm doing. THIS light IS great...and for the price...it is really worthwhile and I do recommend owning one.If you are on a budget, this is a superb light. I do need a bit more, so I will go ahead and buy another lamp that is more expensive (by 2x) than to buy another one of these. Hopefully my review will help somehow here!

lOVE THIS LAMP
Now a senior citizen, I've recently resumed a former hobby: embroidery. I love the peace while I do this beautiful work - it is truly a form of meditation. It would not have been possible for me to resume this hobby without a magnifying floor light. This is a high quality LED lamp which can be moved from easy chair to couch, or even out onto the balcony. It's light weight, yet sturdy. It has a battery option as well as a cord to plug into an electrical socket. The magnifier function enables me to sharply see my fabric and thread. Now and then I've begun sewing at sundown, with adequate ambient light in the room. I'll find myself an hour later surrounded by total darkness, yet the pool of light over the little world in which I am absorbed is so illuminating that I haven't noticed the gradual change in the room. There is even a magnifier within the magnifier - a circular insert that further intensifies the magnification. This is is useful when I've made a mistake that requires reversal, as it allows me to effortlessly examine exactly what my particular sewing mis-step may have been, or to undo an unintentionally formed knot, etc.The business through which I purchased this lamp described my lamp as being used. However, it was in perfect condition and still in the original packing box. The price was at least half of what I would have paid for it at my local embroidery shop. It arrived fairly quickly. I couldn't be happier about this purchase.

Very handy
I LOVE that you can operate it on batteries because that makes it totally portable and pet proof (I have a pet that chews cords). The light is not as bright as I expected, it gives good focused light on the book or project but I still want to make sure there is good ambient light in the room.Having a battery operated stand up floor light came in VERY handy during a recent power outage! Much better than a flashlight or lantern. The magnifier is good, clear, focused, I tend not to use it much, but when I do it's very functional.

A Vision Saver
As my vision has become worse I have had to give up some of my favorite hobbies like reading and crocheting simply because the eye strain of focusing on small words or close work would cause me such headaches. I knew that besides magnifying things I also needed a better source of light if I was going to be able to enjoy any of my activities again. After reading the reviews of all the magnifying lights available on Amazon I chose this one. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm so impressed with it. The base is very heavy which means that moving the arm of the light does not affect the steadiness of the lamp. The arm is ultimately flexible and I'm able to bend and tilt it in any way I need for my activity. And it bends straight back up and out of the way when its not in use. The height is perfect for doing activities while sitting down. The magnifying glass is large enough to read a whole page without having to move the book around. And the light, being around the magnifying glass, perfectly illuminates what I'm working on. I'm so thrilled with this light because I can once again enjoy my relaxation time without the eyestrain. The only regret I have for this light is that I didn't buy it sooner. Very highly recommended.

Does the job very well . The light with magnification is great . I like it because it can be placed on the floor.
I find the Mighty Bright LED Light and Magnifier excellent. It was easy to put together and gives me the light I need for the finer type of crochet that I do. I like it as I can stand it on the floor out of my way until I need it. Then I do not have to worry about clamping it to furniture that is close to me as I work .

Perfect lamp for crafting and reading
I love this magnifier lamp which is perfect for my sewing crafts. The light is bright and illuminates a large area of my embroidery area. It has a small 6x magnifier to help with threading needles. It easily swivels in base when you need to move it away. Other reviewers say they do not like that base comes away separately if you want to move the lamp but it needs to be this way in order for you to be able to swivel the arm away so that it doesn’t tip over. It is so perfect for crafting and reading.

Great prodict could stand a bit more product developement. But a buy recommendation.
The lamp works as advertised. Magnifies and bright lights all good for reading, crafts, close work etc. However a few nits to pick. The base and lamp must be aligned to point the same direction or the lamp will topple over. And this isn't always possible due to chair legs etc. If you swing the lamp 180 degrees in order to get out of a chair the lamp may fall over. The stand sections don't lock together making lifting or moving the lamp without it coming apart difficult especially from a seated position. The small super magnification part of the lens reduces the area available for ordinary reading and is a distraction and annoyance. It works fine for its intended occasional use and for those who use it frequently it would be nifty but would rather it wasn't there.

Super lamp for sewing or reading
This light and magnifier is nothing short of FABULOUS! I recently retired and have started cross-stitching and embroidery again. Although I had previously sewed creatively for close to 30 years, in the last 10 years I became too busy at work, and when I recently resumed sewing, I found it difficult to see/focus on the cross-stitch. Someone suggested a light magnifier, and I ordered this from Amazon. It's perfect, has a stable base to sit on the floor beside my sewing chair and a flexible arm to position the magnifier and bright LED lights directly over my sewing. I am thrilled that I am now able to sew again in my retirement thanks to Mighty Bright! And it's handy for reading as well.
