Schaum's Outline of Genetics, Fifth Edition (Schaums Outline Series) 5th Edition

This genetic study guide came in the mail last Saturday, I am in a great appreciation of this study guide by Susan Elrod and William Stansfield. I am sure that I will improve my grade in my Child Development class. The book is so neat and every chapter is nicely arranged. If I study this study guide my grade should improve to be an "A" grade.

Recommend to anyone taking university level genetics, studying for the MCATS, even those taking higher level genetics courses or courses that involve genetic analysis. I read this little book 10000000x more than I read the assigned textbook. Almost everything was in here content-wise. Highly recommend this book, definitely helped me get an A in genetics!

Some problems were helpful. Spent more time in office hours for help... rather than the book. Working with the professor was better. However, the professor provided a large amount of practice problems. Received a B in the class due to the professor, not this book. Not a requirement but an okay reference, especially if professor doesn't provide practice problems. Some typos and paper is thin ...so can pose a problem for highlighting.

I wish more genetics textbooks were written in this way, acknowledging that there are a lot of strange problems in genetics and not just history and vocabulary. Had I bought it at the beginning of the semester instead of towards the end it might have improved my grade a little.

I liked it and makes much more sense than my class (Advanced Genetics) textbook, though I had to drop the class because I could not keep up with the statistics. I wish I had at the beginning the semester. I'll be better prepared next time.

It was poorly written because it was designed for the sole purpose of passing an exam in genetics. This was not made clear in the Amazon description of its contents. Quite simply Iwas "had".

I really like this book, it has a lot of great practice problems to help you prepare for exams and to make sure you understand the material. This is useful for anyone who wants assistance in a college fundamental genetics course.

Excellent guide. Has helped me with the homework, quizzes and tests. Most recently, the guide helped me get an A on midterm. Highly recommended for those like me who may need further instruction on the topic.

Wish the book wasn't as dirty as it was but cleaned it up as best I could. It will do the trick.

Concise, easy to understand and well written. Covers major topics. I used it as a textbook/ questions practice book to prepare for an exam. has a lot of questions which help understand the topic better. it does have some printing error though.

Hardly helped me at all, I found it just as confusing as my text, ended up dropping the course lol
